Henderson shouldn't even be in the same sentence as Ramel.

 I feel so much better now.

I'm pretty sure UK just got ate up by a pair of sub 6 foot guards. With his ability and a good coach he could very well be developed . For examlpe a guy by the name of Roy Hibbert could not dunk in high school he had a coach develop his skills and now look him. Shooting is not a skill that you are born with it is a technique that you learn as well as ball handling. So why couldn't a kid with his skills be develop into the player the coaches want, it happens all the time in other conferences.

Coaches take chances on 7 footers like Hibbert.

Bad example.

Henderson is a good basketball player. Headsy and stable. I like they way he kind of takes over the team on the floor and everyone feeds off him. Would have liked to have seen him play a couple more times. He will be an asset to some college program and sounds like he is a good student as well. Best of luck.

I don't understand why people don't think he could play at least low DI ball. Do you not think he could run the point and be one of those big strong guards? He shoots in the 30's percentage wise from 3. He is strong with the ball. A great rebounder for a guard. Would be the best perimeter defender on most teams. Makes good decisions. Good leader.

I guess I just don't understand what the knock on the kid is...

I think Arrez has proved he is the best OVERALL guard in the sweet 16 as well as state and that he can defend and play against D1 guards. Sanford was absolutely shut down today in the Holmes game.

BTW Henderson will finish his career as a 60 percent plus shooter. That's solid considering he's started as a freshman. Also those saying he isn't a good enough shooter, he isn't a 3 point shooting guard. He is more of a defense first , score second type player who likes to drive to the whole and use his strength down low. The kid is a D1 player. He has locked down every D1 guard he's went against. (See Profitt last year and Sanford this year)

He also had a double double against the #1 team in the state with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Considering Lexcath's front line is 6'5, 6'5, and 6'6, I'd say for a 6'1 guard it doesn't get any better than that.

I think there is a chance he could play on the low D1 level, but I dont think he has the skill set right now to start at that level. I'm sure he could develop it, but I havent seen him look like a good D1 guard in two state tournaments. He is a lock down type defender, but I almost wonder how his help D is because he is not ever having to help off his guy because they need to be checked the whole time.

He hasnt been that solid with the ball this tournament either. Maybe he is just having some problems in the tournament, but I havent seen great hands or a great handle. Just average. He has shown he doesnt want to shoot the 3 ball, or cant. I wonder about that. He is a very good high school player, but I am not seeing a D1 college player. He has some developing to do for that to happen, and coaches dont really take chances on developing a 6'1 guard.

If him shooting the 3 from the top of the key with no one within 5 or 6 feet of him is going to hurt the team and keep them from winning a ball game I think that says it all.

Arrez isn't a 3 point shooter though. He is a more a mid range type player who will take the occasional jumper. Arrez is shooting over 60 percent for his career. He is a very smart player.

I also havent seen him go to the basket with much effectiveness either. His points in the paint have been off rebounds and post ups.

No doubt he is a top notch high school defender, but in this tournament I have been more impressed with the sophomore class than Henderson.

You gave all of LC's front line about an inch a piece. They are that height when Henderson gets boards against them right? Plus, Smart does nothing in the paint and Stewart and Novosel were in a lot of foul trouble.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. All I'm saying is if Henderson is shutting down these big time D1 guards (Profitt, Sanford) why couldn't he play at the mid D1 level like those two? Once again, he ISN"T an offensive player but he can be when his team needs him. (21 points in yesterday's second half)

Also Stewart and Novosel were in foul trouble because of Holmes penetration (R. Johnson and Henderson). Anyone who has seen Henderson EVERY game this year knows he isn't much of a scorer, but with that being said, he still quietly leads Holmes in scoring at 17 a game.

Anything else to say bellalumni? Might as well jump on the bandwagon while you still have a chance. Holmes plays at 8 :-)

Because Tribble shut him down today.

Because Tribble shut him down today.

A double double isn't exactly being shut down. (10 points 11 boards). Pittman had the hot hand so everyone knew who to go to.
