Arrez Henderson

Eta Rho would be the one to ask about that definitively, but I had heard that he was determined to go DI...

Pettigrew was determined to go to UK and look how that situation turned out.

I agree. In every big game situation this year it has been Henderson who came up with the big shots.

And yes Henderson does indeed have offers from all of those schools which is why I kept telling people he was good enough to go D1. I think recruiters would know a little more than us average fans.

The reason he hasn't committed yet though is because he hasn't went on his trip to Louisiana Tech and he wanted to see who else came in the picture after the sweet 16.

Henderson wants to play D1. The way I'm hearing it, and this is from a coach at Holmes, is that Henderson will weigh his options as far as the D1 schools (academics, playing time, position, etc), and he will use the NKU scholarship to fall back on.

If I had to guess though, Louisiana Tech is where he'll end up which is a D1 WAC school.

I'm wondering why he is so big on La.Tech. Not that there is anything wrong with it, just I'm looking at places like Winthrop who are an annual Big South power becoming a regular at the dance and Western who is doing so well this year. And then there are the Miami's of the world which would let him compete around here but still be in a comparable conference.

Well call me stupid but I believe that ER knows more than most about the Holmes kids' and he says there are multiple DI offers, so...

Yea, Pettigrew is playing in the NCAA Sweet 16 next weekend. Looks like it worked out OK.

I think Billy G was impressed last night and he'll make a few calls to fellow coaches for Arrez, telling them he can't take him but they might be interested.

I think it's because he wants to get away for college. While Arrez has always been a great STUDENT-ATHLETE (3.5 g.p.a 25 act), I think he sees how much good getting away was for Rice and Hill so he wants the same experience.

His overall decision will be one made with Mama Henderson though. He and his mother are very close which could also play a huge role in him going somewhere like Miami or Western or even NKU for that matter just to stay close to home.

I understand completely... I think that those two needed to get away for other reasons than Arrez would though... Could be wrong...

Rice and Hill needed to get away not because they were bad kids, but simply for the fact that with the talent they have they didn't need to get mixed up in the things that could happen being close to home. Covington isn't exactly the best place to grow up and there are many "traps" to fall in to.

Henderson has a really good head on his shoulders. He is a very classy and respectful young man. I think Arrez just wants to get away for the experience of being a college student away from home. I don't think the kid has ever been outside of Kentucky or Ohio except for over the summer playing AAU.

:thumb:Very good points, completely understandable. Not too surprising at all actually, and it is really a feel good story that the guy is getting so much out of his hard work and effort. He will have a great college career wherever he goes.

Agree.

If if's and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas...

BELL 40: you are not representing Estern Kintucky very well. What kind of educated response is that? You said enough in the below post!

Coaches take chances on 7 footers like Hibbert.

Bad example.

Better exmaple Jonathan Wallace same team. He was a walk on who could only shoot. Coach develops him into an all around point guard.

BELL 40...that was a sarcastic SPELLING in response to your response!!

Wow, this is the great thing about BGP, some just do not quite get it!! Let me try again, Eastern Kentucky...Duh!! Eta Rho & ESPNGUY....he just does not understand. There is not any reason to waste anymore of your time trying to get Bell 40 to understand the Holmes situation and specific players capabilities, etc. They justified on the court all year who they are and why they deserve all opportunities put before them. Great kids deserve great opportunities when they are earned.
