It will be good to see someone other than Warren Central represent the 4th. Seems like everytime a team I go to watch is playing they lose to them. Mason in 04 and JBS last year. They made it 6 straight years didn't they?

That is what I was going to say, but I think Elliot lost two of their top players. That is probably accurate, they do still have Ferguson.

 

We just played last night and everyone was there!!!!

Elliot Co lost by 29 to Mason Co. 14 to Covcath, and 7 to Rose Hill.

 

I just think Greenwood played a tougher schedule. Going on schedule and who had more quality wins, I'd say Greenwood gets the nod.

 

Also of the 7 teams who beat Greenwood,

 

Four had 20 or more wins (Bowling Green 23, Barren Co 26, Franklin Simpson 24, Central Hardin 21-5th region runner up)

 

Greenwood may have a few bad losses in Nelson Co, Allen Co-Scottsville, and adn Warren Central, but they also own more quality wins than Elliot Co.

 

I am tired of hearing this that Elliott has not played anyone. The one loss Elliott had to Rose Hill. Elliott was up by 1 point with a minute to go, RH hit free throws late. The Cov. Cath. game Elliott was down by 4 with a couple mins to go, Cov. Cath. hit free throws late. Elliott was very capable of winning both of those games. Mason Co. was just unstoppable when they played Elliott at Maysville. They shot over 60% in the game.

 

I hope every team in this tournament, believes that Elliott is the 13th best team in it, especially Mason Co. Elliott finished 26-3, beating a good East Carter 4 times, Huntington High, Christian Co., and Rose Hill. I love it when people who have only watched Elliott play one or two games think they know all about them. I have saw many games Elliott has played this year and they are very dangerous team. Even if Elliott loses again to Mason Co they have had a great year. They don't need someone that knows nothing about them, to tell them how they haven't played anyone. Great job this year Elliott. Congratulations on the 2nd 16th Region Championship in the school's history.

I think that the reason people would comment on Elliot's not playing anyone wouldn't have anything to do with the top 3 teams the didn't beat in Mason, Rose Hill, and CovCath, but the other games that they played against lesser competition they could have played better competition.

Elliot played in a very weak 16th region. If Holmes, Lexcath, Mason Co, UHA, J'town played the same schedule as Elliot, I wouldn't be surpsised to see a couple of them undefeated.

 

Also I have seen Elliot Co play 5 times this year and saw them quite a few last year. I think you better get your facts straight before you start with the personal attacks. Elliot is good but not a top 10 team.

 

BTW I believe this is a "Rank the sweet 16" thread. Not a cry about where Elliot is ranked by someone thread.

I wish Elliott would have drawn Greenwood in the first round.

The other 15 teams outside of Mason County wishes they had drawn Elliott County.

 

Who in the Sweet 16 has zero wins against top 25 teams other than Elliott?

 

And having Elliott ahead of Louisville Central is way off. Elliott does not have the speed and height to handle a team that tapped PRP out of the running.
