10th Region Tourney Host

Featured Replies

I will say this LBBC. I like the tourney at Mason Co. because of the tradition. But because of where you live in the county is it closer for you to go to Mason Co. From Falmouth I really don't think it is much of a difference. I can be in Mt. Sterling in about 1 hour 15 min. and in Maysville in about a hour. So not alot of difference to me.

Are there any official contingency plans for postponing due to weather this weekend?

Can't we all just get along here,There are some good teams playing in this tourney and everybody is just fighting over where it should be held.Bottom line Montgomery County has built a first rate facility and should get there shot this year as they are to host the tourney and see how things go.By the way so far things have been great the true test comes this weekend though. This 10th region basketball guys and gals and we need to show a little more support for our teams and less on where were playing it,Let's support the 10th region here and show why it is the best basketball region in the state to watch.

One thing that sticks out in my mind over the past couple of days that has been different than years past is the amount of coaches around the region not participating that are not in attendance. I know in years past at the Fieldhouse you see the coaches despite not participating in the region still in attendace to watch basketball. I have not seen anyone outside of the tournament there this week thus far. Frankly I don't care where the site is for the region, this just entered my mind as I watched the last 4 games.

Love it , Montgomery Co is a wonderful place to hold the regional tournament.:thumb:

A lot of people seem to forget that people have been turned away from the Fieldhouse before too. When Pendleton had their good teams several years ago many of those who drove from Mt. Sterling were turned away. That's just part of it. If you want a seat you have to get there early.

Agree, but turning hundreds away at the Fieldhouse means turning Thousands away at Montgomery, I agree get there early, but turning people away at the door in Montgomery and at the Fieldhouse is a big differnce IMO you are talking about seeing a game with 3500 fans apposed to 5200 fans alot more to be turned away this year.......

Another thing that was obvious by looking was that Pendleton County had more crowd support than the host crowd Montgomery County last night. The crowds have been down thus far for all matchups, maybe because of the matchups, but nothing spectacular.

Thank you, it's not gonna change and Montgomery Co. is doing a great job so far! If there become problems then it will probably just move again next year, and you all will have something else to complain about! Unless its at the only place the NBA Championship game should be held (The Fieldhouse)! But thank you mhighfield for being a true 10th Region basketball supporter! :thumb:

I couldn't agree more!!

And someone stated in an earlier post, how Mason Co. fans have reacted one here. The majority have been accepting of the move and have wished nothing but the best for the tournament.

Good luck to the remaining teams and everyone be safe traveling if they do get to play becasue of the storm brewing.

You think Pendleton Co. had more people there than Montgomery or that they were "more supportive"?

I haven't been impressed with the crowds either, but I am never impressed with the 1st round crowds.

Heck, Mason Co. didn't bring hardly anyone Wed. night.

I think Pendleton County had more in numbers, won't decide as far as the support but with numbers, Pendleton County had more.

As I said before, the crowds have probably been down due to some of the matchups.

No way. Besides it was considered to be a 40 point win.

NO CHANCE!

Maybe you should have turned around and looked at the upper deck of Pendleton Co.'s side. Very few up there, besides their band. 99% of the people in the end zone were Montgomery Co. people. I agree with you most of the time Pressrow, but not on this one. I'm going to say Montgomery had 200-250 more people there than Pendleton.
