A lot of people seem to forget that people have been turned away from the Fieldhouse before too. When Pendleton had their good teams several years ago many of those who drove from Mt. Sterling were turned away. That's just part of it. If you want a seat you have to get there early.

I'll be willing to bet all the "casual" Mason fans who would pack the fieldhouse to watch a game will not drive to Montgomery county "IF" Mason plays in the championship. My desire is to see a Clark-Montgomery match up!

I will say Mason will bring their fans if they make it to the finals. I myself won't be able to make it, because we are taking my mom to Tennessee for her birthday.

 

So, I guess fans are going to complain about Montgomery having home court if they win? We saw last year what that home court was worth in the finals. I myself will drive to watch the Royals whether it be in Mt. Sterling or NKY, and probably watch more games as well. I say let's give it a break and and just go watch our favorite teams play and be happy because not everyone will be pleased with the site.

Literally, the difference is about an hour (not to sound like a jerk or anything).

Regardless of home court advantage--the best team will win!

Last year at the Fieldhouse Clark County was the best team, they won!

 

Just like this year in Mt. Sterling... the best team will win regardless of home court advantage or not.

It was nice to arrive a half hour before game time and get a seat right behind the "media table". Very small crowd last night, but it was a school night, it was a longer drive than usual for some, and it was a mismatch on paper. The atmosphere was dead, but much of that could be attributed to the matchup.

 

I guess you would have to compare last year's first-round attendance with this year's to see if the smaller crowd is real or percieved.

Please tell me NKY teams dont complain about driving to the state tournament.....

Wherling Sterling is ONLY 30-40 minutes from Lexington.......in the country sometimes you have to drive a little while to get where you are going, its not an inconvience, simply look at it as a sight seeing trip :eek:

I heard the first session was slightly higher this year. Not sure about the second session. In the third session, I believe its Scott and Augusta. That will be a small crowd.

I am from NKY and I have to agree with you. If the team I support is in the regional tourny, I will drive no matter where it is at, if I want to see the game. If you don't want to drive a long distance to watch your team play then join the other casual fans that in todays environment listen to the game on radio or the internet. Just quit complaining about the driving time. You most likely didn't drive to the game anyway.
