He said that he doesn't want to put his team on a short week against Norfolk State...while I think that's an absolute joke, and a blatant lie. It is, what it is. The reality is even more of a spit in the face of U of L. Mitch is basically saying that he needs one more day to get ready for Norfolk, but one LESS day to get ready for the 'Ville.....heck Tom, put it on Thursday, that way the Cats have four extra days to get ready for the juggernaut that is Norfolk. I'll ask you the same thing I asked GT. Do you really think that Mitch is more concerned about ticking off the UofL faithful than doing what he thinks is best of the UK football program? I can understand you not liking what Mitch said or did, but let's get real here. Secondly, UK has all summer to get ready for Uof L. They would have only 4 days to try to recover from any injuries they suffer in the UofL game.
February 27, 200818 yr I disagree. Awful petty to enjoy another fan base wanting what's best for their home game. What's good for the goose and what not. It sounds like Sunday is not an option and I would guess UL has nothing to do with scheduling something like an Ironman event. Wasn't the basketball game moved because of scheduling conflicts at Freedom Hall? Again out of the hands of UL. Pretty weak really... While personally I think the MNF game would be pretty cool, it is fun watching your rival get so worked up over something like this. It is not as big a deal as they are making it but I am somewhat displeased we turned it down as well.

If that were to happen with a national audience and a lot of hopeful recruits, it would hurt the program, somewhat. I really think that the game would be a good game. Both teams would be competitive. Mitch needs to put faith into the football program and let Brooks decide.

February 27, 200818 yr I understand why UK wanted to move the game back last season. It paid off for them. The hosted the game so they should be in control of when the game is. Now that UL has control of the game they should schedule it when it benefits them the most. As a UL fan I would like to see UL drop Uk from being the 1st game of the season. I think they should go after a bigger named school. I would like to see them chase after these schools: Va. Tech Miami Boston College Notre Dame I think these teams will do more for the Cards than UK. Yes still play UK just do it later in the season. Maybe the last game of the season. To me until this season the game has been pretty much a waste of time for UL.

They have the entire off-season as soon as practice starts to prepare for UL.

February 27, 200818 yr If we learned anything last year, its that exposure will come to good football teams regardless. If you deserve it, you will get on national TV like UK did on a couple of occasions last year. If you dont deserve it, who cares? Do you really want to be on national TV if you arent really deserving it and in a position to get run off the field? Mitch is right in this case, especially with this UK team for next year.
