^ They have won 3 straight BCS bowls.....that's pretty darned strong. I know you may not want to agree with it....they have beaten the SEC's Best, the ACC's best, and the Big XII's best in back to back to back years.

 

I never said the confernce champion (WVU, UL, WVU) was not good.

^ well, two years ago the Big East went undefeated in their bowl games....last year, I think they still had a winning bowl record. The Big East is better than people want to give them credit for. They certainly aren't the SEC or the Big XII, but I think they could play with any of those teams day in and day out...they are a mid level BCS conference...with some great teams at the top....teams capable of winning the national championship.

And no person disputes that. But some argue that the road to a BCS game is just as tough in the Big East as it is in any other conference, which is simply not true because they have at least two less conference games to play. Let us pretend all teams are equal, the odds are A LOT better of having to win 6 or 7 games as opposed to 8 or 9.

 

Which gets back to my contention, UL did a heck of a job getting in to the Big East and it played a lot more of a factor than playing on Thursday nights, Wednsday mornings, etc.

Wrong answer. If he answered to the masters in the booster club Brooks would have been gone before last season. Nice try though.

^ The exposure helps with voters. Look, I am not saying that getting to the BCS is not easier being in the Big East, because it simply is. Problem is, being in the Big East you have to be perfect (most years) to get in. In the Big XII, or the SEC you don't (LSU), heck fradulent Ohio State made it this past year, and they were junk. Lately, I wish Louisville was in the Big 11. The SEC is a beast, and if you're winning you will get exposure. I jsut feel that this game being THE show in America on a Monday night, is way more beneficial than a likely Friday time slot now.

The reason for wanting to be on WHAS is that it reaches 40 states at night.It had nothing to do with statewide coverage.

I know...if they were, the Big East would have the last two NC's....but they can keep on fighting for it.

I don't see why it's a big deal. We will all get to see the game anyway and if UK doesn't want to put it on ESPN then why should they? It's their right and they have that option. All ESPN announcers are gonna do is say how bad UK football is gonna be this year anyway. Why does a national audience need to hear that? UK is looking out for UK and that's all they need to do.

For a team "that frankly wasn't that good", they were a blown coverage away from taking down the 2 time Music City Bowl Champs...that said Louisville was a highly talented team last year, that really fought everything that seemed could go wrong. I don't look for that to happen in back to back seasons. I feel this Louisville team will be ranked by season's end.

 

That loss still stings a little huh?

 

They werent that good because at times their offense didnt live up to the hype and their defense was an embarrasment.

The game would still be the "The Show" in America on a Sunday night. Why don't you see the Iron Man excuse as being as weak as you say Barnhart's excuse is? Is the Iron Man being held inside Papa John's Stadium?
