I would have thought Sunday night was a better option for ESPN. Why won't the last preseason Monday Night Football game be on ESPN that Monday night?

I do not think they have a preseason game that Monday since the season starts that Thursday (or Sunday, really). Preseason is over by then.

I don't think ESPN had preseason MNF... it isn't on their MNF schedule for last year.

 

ESPN has offered to televise this game on Labor Day Monday. I imagine they've already offered the Sunday night slot to someone else. This isn't happening in a bubble, you know. Other football teams are also working on their schedule.

^ They have won 3 straight BCS bowls.....that's pretty darned strong. I know you may not want to agree with it....they have beaten the SEC's Best, the ACC's best, and the Big XII's best in back to back to back years.

 

Well... Kansas was actually the best Big12 team last year, and Wake was only in the BCS because some ACC team had to be (finished 17/18 in the polls).

Not unless you're going to say that the Michigan-Ohio State game is no longer a rivalry.

That may be the stock public reason, but in no way, shape or form do I believe at least part of the motivation wasn't to undercut the growth of the UofL fan base. To suggest otherwise is naive.

 

Maybe you forgot but WHAS was the flagship station for UK for about 50 years before UL overbid and won the contract for a few years.UK is back on WHAS where it can reach its many fans throughout the nation.

For a team "that frankly wasn't that good", they were a blown coverage away from taking down the 2 time Music City Bowl Champs...that said Louisville was a highly talented team last year, that really fought everything that seemed could go wrong. I don't look for that to happen in back to back seasons. I feel this Louisville team will be ranked by season's end.

 

I am writing this one down because it aint gonna happen! The roster has been depleted by graduation,suspensions,injury,early declares for the NFL,arrests, you name it not to mention new coaches. They will not have the horses this year.

So that they can have an extra day to get ready for Tennesee Tech or whoever they play. To many times my fellow UK fans, do we defend something that UK does. Then jump all over it, if some other team does it.
