February 22, 200818 yr I am not saying this dislike for UK is shared to the same degree by Duke fans, but my wife's aunt and uncle (who have only been to the state of Kentucky a handful of times), live in Raleigh and are alums of Duke, and season ticket holders. They do not like Kentucky and it is shared by many of their friends. Either that or they were lying to me. :lol: The Scribe nailed it.

February 22, 200818 yr Everyone loves to hate teams with class its pure jealousy...No one would here would turn down a chance to play at Duke or attend its college. Duke wins people don't like it. In turn people like to cry and undermine an institution which The University Of Duke is...AN INSTITUTION. The University Of Kentucky couldnt hold a candle to Duke academically or match the success of the people who graduate from Duke. CEO's, Doctors, etc. Not putting down Kentucky but the hatred Duke receives is actually a compliment because it proves to us fans that we have the program no one wants to see win so we know they are watching. :flame: What does any of that have to do with Duke?:devil:
February 22, 200818 yr Duke is just a team that us people in Kentucky simply do not like. UK fans usually don't like UL, UT, UF now, and anyone who is a premier program in college basketball because we want to be THE premier program. I think a big thing is that Duke gets so much national publicity from ESPN and we want more publicity, although we get a lot in our own right.

February 22, 200818 yr From a UConn message board.... So a handful of posts proves what? On this board, a Duke loss has a thread with 25+ posts in it in an hour and spills over into a second page in two hours. I bet it's 5x that rate on TCP.
