February 20, 200818 yr Even if that's the case you don't make that opinion public! What does that say to future players? Be good enough to be on scholarship
February 20, 200818 yr Even if that's the case you don't make that opinion public! What does that say to future players? I'm just saying what everyone else already thinks and knows.
February 20, 200818 yr I'm just saying what everyone else already thinks and knows. I understand that, but you can't have that attitude as a coach, IMO.
February 20, 200818 yr I understand that, but you can't have that attitude as a coach, IMO. True... I am not the coach though. Simply a fan who supports my coach to make decisions like this. We can speculate all day as to what really went on and it will get us nowhere.
February 20, 200818 yr Shortly after Kentucky’s chartered flight from Nashville touched down at 2 a.m. last Wednesday, Billy Gillispie sought out freshman walk-on Dusty Mills. I'm sure BG was fairly ripe at 2am after that beatdown. Sounds like his emotions got the best of him, and he needed someone to vent his anger onto.

Sure, things happen and are said in the heat of a moment. A man corrects anything he did wrong at such times.
February 20, 200818 yr Most slick tounged college coaches would have beat Mills to the punch and released their statement about the situation first. The thing BCG is guilty of is not caring what anyone thinks about him.
February 20, 200818 yr Good to see you guys are enjoying the new Bob Huggins on the Wildcat bench... :walk:
February 20, 200818 yr It's hard to explain without being able to give examples... If a coach says, "Get your butt in gear!" (obviously replacing 'butt' with a profanity), and another coach tears a kid apart using profane language, telling him how much he makes him sick, you consider those to be the same situation? I think if you were the one in the players position you might not think so. I understand... I guess my point is that I'm sure Pitino has cursed out more than a player or two in his day the way BCG did.
February 20, 200818 yr I understand... I guess my point is that I'm sure Pitino has cursed out more than a player or two in his day the way BCG did. Not that Im disagreeing, but we haven't had stories like this with Pitino brought to the publics attention. If we do, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
February 20, 200818 yr Deuce Deuce... Ask the UL players what their meeting was like two days after the T-Will/Jerry Smith/Edgar Sosa Weekend of Cardopoolooza. Ask them to explain to you what Pitino said they were and what he would do to them. Cursing is a part of it...not many coaches will tell you they like to do it...I dont like it, but it is a part of the game. Mountain meet molehill.
February 20, 200818 yr Pitino is such a slick talker he could say something like this to a walk-on but they would leave feeling good about themselves.
February 20, 200818 yr Maybe the reason why we don't hear about this with Pitino is that no one really cares about UL basketball.:flame:
