February 20, 200818 yr I just remember Pitino being an avid curser when we was here at UK and I'm sure it's probably still the same way.
February 20, 200818 yr Deuce Deuce... Ask the UL players what their meeting was like two days after the T-Will/Jerry Smith/Edgar Sosa Weekend of Cardopoolooza. Ask them to explain to you what Pitino said they were and what he would do to them. Cursing is a part of it...not many coaches will tell you they like to do it...I dont like it, but it is a part of the game. Mountain meet molehill. Are you comparing that to laughing?

We all know you like to exercise your sources, but whatever Ricky P did wasn't published in the Courier. Not to mention, the scenario you're referring to is a little different from laughing on the bench. Like I said, regardless of coach, if that kind of info gets to the public, it should be addressed. It's disrespectful, and if continuous should be acted upon.
February 20, 200818 yr Jumped in at tale end of thread....saw cursing part. I would imagine there is more to it...you will not get other side of story...so be it. Ask Rod Rhodes what he was told one day before Holiday Festival for rolling his eyes.
February 20, 200818 yr And, yes, Pitino curses his players. But Pitino just curses A LOT. I've never heard a player take it personally, or describe it as an effort to tear down or belittle someone, because Pitino cussing is a) just the way he talks, he doesn't mean anything by it and b) usually kind of funny, in a vulgar witty sort of way.

February 20, 200818 yr With my own two ears I have heard player's families take it that way. As long as they were a walk-on, it doesn't matter.
February 20, 200818 yr With my own two ears I have heard player's families take it that way. In Pitino's case or in general? I can't speak to parents, just relaying what I know from players. It might just be that the players know Pitino better, and know what's meant by it and what isn't meant by it.
February 20, 200818 yr As long as they were a walk-on, it doesn't matter. In my case, it was one of the most loved players of all time. His family and friends were not and are not Pitino fans. As a parent, it would be hard to see some degrade and berate your child.
February 20, 200818 yr It's ironic to see some people jump all over Billy G for this, but don't mention anything bad about Kelvin Sampson. I guess it's all about what colors you wear sometimes.

February 20, 200818 yr Yeah, I don't get that either. Like I said earlier in this thread, I don't think it's a monster huge deal, but it does confirm to me some of what I hear about other players and Billy Clyde.
