February 17, 200818 yr We have the Bluegrass Stockyards! Seems like anything is a possibility with Coach G. He hasn't exactly proven to be very predictable thus far.
February 17, 200818 yr From what I've heard, Bill Self is going to be the next coach at Oklahoma St. Why would he leave Kansas?

February 17, 200818 yr Why would he leave Kansas? Two things: I believe that is where he played. Most important thing: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
February 17, 200818 yr Maybe so... Still, the article would have still made sense had he said Keeneland. Weiss writes for a national audience. Most of the country knows nothing about Keeneland. When they think of Kentucky and horse racing, they think of the Kentucky Derby ... at Churchill Downs.
February 17, 200818 yr I am not going to look too much into this. If this happens, I will lose faith that UK will ever have another good season because no one will want to coach here.
February 17, 200818 yr What has been unpredictable about him? AJ Stewart shows a lot of promise when he does play, yet gets very little time. Jodie Meeks becoming "available" in the second half of a game earlier this year. Mark Coury STILL starts. Not exactly completely cooperative with everything expected of a UK coach. Functions, disclosure at press conferences, etc. The obvious rumors of his social life... Continuing recruitment of guards with a glaring weakness in the post. Michael Porter's continual rise and fall in the lineup. Need I go on?

I think the bolded two are the only ones that may relate to whether he would leave after a year, and one of those is "rumors." And most of the others I don't even think are odd. AJ still looks lost out there, Mark doesn't get many minutes, so who cares if he starts, we will need guards next year to replace Joe/Ramel, Porter's minutes declined once Meeks/Jasper started playing.
February 17, 200818 yr And most of the others I don't even think are odd. The recruiting of more guards, after it's been proven UK struggles mightily when their #1 big has to sit out over the past few years doesn't bother you?
February 17, 200818 yr The recruiting of more guards, after it's been proven UK struggles mightily when their #1 big has to sit out over the past few years doesn't bother you? You have to recruit good players. Gillispie has went after a lot of big men. Patterson is the only one hes got thus far. UK also needs help at point guard next year as well if you havent noticed.
February 17, 200818 yr Mark Coury STILL starts. I think this is at least in part due to Stevenson being foul prone and it keeps him from getting a couple of early ones.
February 17, 200818 yr The recruiting of more guards, after it's been proven UK struggles mightily when their #1 big has to sit out over the past few years doesn't bother you? Bradley graduates. Crawford graduates. Legion has transferred. Meeks is hurt. Jasper is hurt. What's left after that? UK is getting hammered over lack of inside depth. Do you think BCG wants a lack of guard depth in 2-3 years?
February 17, 200818 yr Do you think BCG wants a lack of guard depth in 2-3 years? Obviously not, but you have to find some sort of happy medium in your recruiting... You can have the best guards in the land, but with no middle, it's all for not, IMO.
