I had heard somewhere that McNamee gave this evidence to the government two to three weeks ago. That what he had is just coming to light. I don't remember where I heard that from. Either ESPN or CNN.

 

I reckon we'll find out in the next couple weeks.

I believe he turned it over to federal investigators immediately after Clemens came out with the tape recording of their conversation. I remember McNamee's attorney making some statement at that point to the effect that they were taking the gloves off and ready to do battle.

 

I really do believe Clemens did use steroids, but at the same time I have a hard time accepting he would actually go under oath and before Congress and lie - under potential charges of perjury - that he never used if he actually did. He can't really be that ignorant/arrogant/stubborn, can he?

What we do know is, one of them is being less than truthful.

 

I'll give Clemens the benefit of doubt, until proven otherwise.

I agree. We all know anyone not named Sean Casey used something. We all know the league is to blame as much as anyone. Nothing you can do about the past, just start testing more frequently in the future.

 

As for HGH, come up with a way to test it or deal with the fact that they can use it and get away with it. They take the chance of facing legal action if caught with an illegal prescription.

I find it just as odd as anyone that McNamee supposedly kept all this evidence. However, something I find equally as fishy is Clemens "taking the initiative" and requesting all these one-on-one interviews on the Hill when he was silent on the matter for so long after the Mitchell report came out. Feels like some reverse psychology from both sides or something.

I'm sure he has syringes with Clemens' human tissue on it from the "B-12 injections". However, they'll have to prove that the HGH/steroids were injected at the same time that this needle was injected....

 

Not saying it couldn't be done, just saying I don't think it's as black/white as most of us think...

 

With this day and time who knows. Clemens and his lawyers are standing strong as well on this and his lawyer has made a public statement something to the effect of "we will expose McNamee for the liar that he is". Will certainly be interesting from here on out to see what happens (duh, that is the understatement of the year). Roger Clemens is one of my all time favorites but have to admit that it does not look good for him.

I sincerly hope that he is innocent and can expose McNamee as the fraud.

 

I have stayed away from making any post on this untill now. I certainly have blasted others (players) and I am not so nieve that I think that Clemens couldn't have used these drugs/supplements.

What I am sayig is that I am certainly hoping that this is not the case and I want to believe Clemens. I would love to see him go down as one of if not the best right hander (w/o any asteriks) in the game. (right now I give that distinction to B. Gibson).

Who knows, if Clemens did but if a guy "professes" to keep this kind of stuff, for 7 years....tells me all I need to know about him.

Also, I just saw the pics of this "evidence" that McNamee presented, there was a crushed/emtpy beer can lying right next to the syringe and gauge pads :eek:. Now, How cerdible is this guy? :lol:

So now McNamee says he injected Clemens' wife with HGH? Awesome. I've always felt that the key to a successful marriage is that you need to have a hobby that the two of you can share.

 

Clemens' lawyer's response: "So did Roger win the Cy Young because his wife took HGH?" I'm not exactly sure that response will help Roger's cause in the court of public opinion.

Isn't McNamee a former police officer? He would know that evidence is very important and if, like they're saying, he KNEW Roger was a shady guy from the beginning, then he was smart to keep evidence.....(this would be THEIR line of thinking, not necessarily mine).
