Regardless of when, where and why, how do you now believe everything he said...

 

Heavens no. He's obviously lied about some things and probably did so in an effort to save his own butt. But to the ultimate question of whether I beleive that he inject Clemens with HGH/steroids, absolutely I do.

Is it too much to ask for the members of the committee be able to pronounce names correctly?

He is speaking sternly, making eye contact, and outside of the opening statement, has been very limited in his voice inflection. McNamee is squirming like a worm on a hook. If he didn't have Petite and Knoblauch's depositions behind him, he'd be looking at a perjurey charge already. As it is, he does, and I believe that both men aren't giving the whole truth.

That's a big "if". So far, independent third parties have supported McNamee's story and not Clemens. Thus, McNamee has far less to worry about a potential perjury charge than does Clemens.

What is the purpose of this hearing? What is the hopeful end result?

Got to watch the last few minutes of the hearing. His little meeting with his former nanny came off as highly suspicious and borderline unethical. All the committee wanted was her name so they could interview her themselves and specifically requested that neither he or his attorneys speak to her, yet that is exactly what they did. And it further appears that he helped "coax" her memory.

Just read the blog. The answers Clemens gave to explain away Pettite's recollection of their conversation in which he told Pettite point blank that he used HGH were laughable. In order to believe Clemens' version of their conversation, you must also believe Pettite is a clueless boffoon. Think this might affect Pettite's and Clemens' friendship from here on in?

 

BTW, do I take it that Clemens is saying that McNamee injected his wife with HGH without her knowledge or did he just say that he (Clemens) wasn't aware that she had allowed herself to be injected? Either way, neither story is remotely credible. Wow, all these people associated with baseball who knew they were being injected with something, but didn't know it was HGH/steriod? Sure.

 

Interesting that a MRI specialist indicated that the mass on Rog's butt was indicative of steroid injections and not B-12 shots.

...but did he bet on baseball? Isn't that the REAL question? Roger and Pete will have their own wing in the Hall of Shame!
