Clemens' lawyer's response: "So did Roger win the Cy Young because his wife took HGH?" I'm not exactly sure that response will help Roger's cause in the court of public opinion.

 

This is bizarre! How would McNamee come up with this one if it isn't true? He has baseball-playing sons, so, if he's going to "make something up" he's going to implicate his WIFE? This almost makes me believe McNamee more but I'm too confused to make up my mind. :creepy:

Isn't McNamee a former police officer? He would know that evidence is very important and if, like they're saying, he KNEW Roger was a shady guy from the beginning, then he was smart to keep evidence.....(this would be THEIR line of thinking, not necessarily mine).

Yes and very plausible. This saga will only continue to escalate with Clemens and others.

 

Spring Training, is nearly ready to start and the focus, will be in hearings. What has MLB evolved into and what steps, are being taken to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Very odd. In fact, some of the Congressmen have even commented that it was very unusual and didn't know what his purpose was in doing it. I believe one of them even declined to meet with Clemens.

 

Just a guess, but the reason I think Clemens took this approach is because at the end of the day, this will turn out to be a "he said/he said" type of event in which nothing can be definitely proven/disproven. So the ultimate winner, if there is one, will be determined by whom is more likeable/believable and this is Roger's attempt to improve his standing in that area.

I agree. And, technically, there's nothing wrong or illegal by it but you'd think that more of the Congressmen/Congresswomen would have declined to meet with him for the obvious reason that it could look like they're playing favorites and that it just kinda looks suspicious.

Hasn't he already testified under oath? He knows what he did and his lawyer advised him that they would probably go after him for perjury if he lied. So why would he continue to lie? I'm not taking his side at all. If he did steroids or HGH he's really dumb for not admitting it just like Pettite did.

Yes, he was placed under oath during his deposition and therefore subject to penalties of perjury. However, I would be willing to bet that if he would come clean during his Congessional tesimony that his prior "faux pas" would be forgiven.

McNamee's a clown. He's telling us that he's credible because he was a police officer. Yeah, all credible police officers are up against federal charges. Clemens may very well be guilty but no one is at fault for your actions but you McNamee...CLOWN!

Not really. As this story continues to unfold, I believe more and more people are becoming increasingly skeptical of Clemens and McNamee; which leaves the public to have no faith in whatever these two say to the media these days. If Clemens were to be caught, I honestly dont think anyone will be that surprised.
