January 9, 200818 yr Guys, I do like the Filet at Carrabba's...but if you want some Italian grub....let me hook it up for you. I know that several people like Vincenzo's in Louisville for Italian. Do you have a couple of local favorites?
January 9, 200818 yr We got a gift card there for Christmas, and had dinner there tonight. We've been a few times and the food was always good, but with so many other local options it wasn't high in the rotation. I got the Fillet and when it was delivered my Medium looked a whole like like well done. I don't normally complain at restaurants, but I took one bite and knew I needed it recooked. I didn't raise hell, and just showed the server the steak and she said she would get me a new one. When I got the new one it was the best Filet I've ever had. Cooked perfectly with an amazing taste. Everything went well, and I was even talking to the server about never sending food back, but it was just too well done. When we got the check the Filet dinner was comped by the manager even though he knew I had no problem with waiting to get it cooked right. Needless to say the server got a big tip, and we'll be going back a lot more often... As I've said before, to each his own; but I don't get cooking a prime piece of meat until it looks and tastes like old shoe leather...

I don't complain about my food very often. The first Filet was really bad. Round 2 was FANTASTIC. At least they got it right...

January 9, 200818 yr A friend of mine and my wife is a cook at Carabba's in Crestview Mall and they always stand by there service and food. I used to love the appetizer they hade italian sausage, peper's and mushroom's it was awesome. I would recommend them over Karlo's in Florence any day. JD

January 9, 200818 yr I know that several people like Vincenzo's in Louisville for Italian. Do you have a couple of local favorites? Yeah....you mentioned one...then you have Primo, Veranese, even Martini in the Summitt....there are a lot of solid choices here in Louisville.

I know you didn't ask me, and I'm sure I'm not the expert that RP is, but..... Here's my take...Vincenzo's is well-regarded, but I prefer Porcini, if we're talking that level of dining. The Come Back Inn has some fabulous inexpensive Italian. I'll be honest...I don't go to the big chain restaurants much, especially for Italian. It's my opinion that the big chains are "homoginized"....I'm continually on the quest for the "little guy", and it's my experience that the search is usually worth the trouble when you find that place that knocks your socks off.
January 9, 200818 yr Being from Newport and all you would think I'd be a big Pompilio's guy but Im not much for that place. There's a place in Cincy I went to once called Ferrari's Little Italy and Bakery that was very good.
January 9, 200818 yr I like this joint, however I hate the fact that they don't have Lasagna. Lasagna is the first item on the menu.
