A couple of notes. First of all I have seen a few lists that don't have Duncan in the top 3, which to me is crazy. The argument of someone having to get him the ball doesn't take away from what he does with the ball and on the defensive end of the court.

 

For the point gaurd debate Jason Kidd is one of my all-time favorites, however his shooting has declined and I believe Nash and Paul are currently better. Nash is a very underrated shooter and when one poster called him a joke of an MVP I have to question their knowledge of what he really does on the court. Steve Nash controls the game on the offensive end, you can certainly argue that his defense is suspect and that may hurt his MVP candidacy, but to call him a joke of an MVP is not a very smart statement.

 

I hate Kobe, however he is the real deal and the performance against the Nuggets the other night was awesome. He really controlled the game with his passing.

 

I could never consider someone the MVP who can't guard his shadow.

I feel that the best player in the league is Dwight Howard, followed LeBron James

 

Lebron is hands down the best. Look at the team around him. They are not good at all but Lebron still led them to the finals. The only other player who is in the same discussion with Lebron is Kobe, but Lebron is a team player.

 

Duncan can't won't ever be able to take over a game like Kobe does.

 

But he's by far the best player on a team that is winning multiple championships. I think it's Kobe or Lebron, but I could see why someone would pick Duncan.

I don't know if he is the best player in the NBA (one of the best anyway), but if I were starting a team right this minute I would select Dwight Howard as my guy to build a franchise around. He is an absolute BEAST!!!!!

Kobe, in my opinion, is the best backcourt player ever. I know it sounds crazy to say a guy is better than Michael Jordan, but I think he is. There is nothing that can be done on the court that Kobe can't do.

Please remember context of my quotes; the arguement was that Kobe, compared to Chris Paul, wasn't a superior player at the same age. Kobe had rings, Paul hasn't made the playoffs. The stats listed excluded this important stat.

You are just saying he had a bad night, correct? I hope you are not rying to extrapolate that night into a career and make an arguement against Kobe. He has held a LOT more leads than he has lost. (The best wing player EVER!!!)
