Also, "Best Player in the NBA" means right now! Paul, Howard, James, etc. could all be at some point but not now! Even LeBron says it's Kobe.

I'm not sure what your point is, but all Kobe has done is win in this league and Paul has yet to make the playoffs, so lets be real. Paul, nice player, even better story. December 28, 200718 yr I hate to say it, but Kobe. However, if I were to start a team today, I'd give that Howard kid from Orlando a hard look as my cornerstone. I would agree with that simply from an age stand point. Kobe. He's like Tiger Woods in the fact that he takes/makes shots that no one else can or will try. Chris Paul is an MVP candidate, a great player, and best "point guard" in the league but he's not Kobe. I love Chris Paul is he a heck of a player but he shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breathe as Kobe IMO. I wonder what HT thinks. :lol: I will shock the world here..... Kobe.

There are seriously like 20 players that you could have picked to make this arguement with. Why did you choose Chris Paul? Duncan LeBron Wade Kidd Nash Nowitski KG Amare Howard Boozer Yao Baron Davis Ray Allen Gil Arenas Caron Butler Tony Parker Deron Williams Allen Iverson Rip Hamilton Chauncey Billups Elton Brand... You get my point. And Kobe is BETTER than all of these guys. How many assists does he have to average to be a team player? Is he being selfish when he takes the team on his back the last two seasons and carries them into the playoffs? Was he being selfish when he hit all of those game winners to help his team to victory? What about the big games he has had in the playoffs, he sure was selfish when he defended every teams best wing player and shut them down. You can tell I really think the selfish thing is overplayed, but even if I give you that, are you telling me there is anything Chris Paul does that Kobe can't do? Physically, Kobe is better. Mentally, Kobe has shown his toughness. He lays it on the line everynight just like Paul does, only with better results. Hence, Kobe is better (the BEST wing player EVER!!!)

December 28, 200718 yr Kobe gets my vote the day he becomes a team player. Until then, he's not even in consideration. Define "team player". What exactly do you want him to do? He leads his team in assists (4.9), steals (2.0), and scoring (27.2). I don't think that's a valid argument this season. In the past, maybe, but even then I think b2r has a point that him shooting 35 times a game probably was the best thing for them to win sometimes. His supporting cast is much better this season and he is doing less shooting and scoring. He could lead the league in scoring if he wanted to but he doesn't have to for them to be winning this year. His scoring has gone down and his team is better. And, again, if nearly every player in the league says so, it's Kobe.
December 28, 200718 yr Steve Nash. He does it all. He not only puts up indivudual numbers, he makes his teammates better. He's a floor general, team leader and quietly goes about his business. Pound for pound, he's the toughest in the league.
