Looks like coach Pardue is going to be CU's new O coordinator. This should be interesting. You can find the artcle at http://www.amnews.com.

Interesting. Pardue called the offense for the KY All-Stars a couple of years ago when Thomas was the head coach.

Pardue said he was not encouraged to leave by any Boyle officials. He had met with high school principal Elmer Thomas after the season -- like he has each year -- and was not told that his job status was any different.

“He told me I was his coach, and I believed him,” Pardue said. “There was no outside pressure involved in my decision.”

I wish him luck next season at Cambellsville! I know this Rebel fan will miss him.

Coach Pardue also called the offense last year and I am thinking he may have had a hand in it three years ago too (Coach Thomas was the head coach two years ago).

Coach Pardue is a Class act...I wish him much Success at Campbellsville U...:thumb:

Who are possible candidates to replace Pardue?

I don't know at this point who is top candidate but I believe Boyle should hire from outside the current group. This hire will determine whether or not Boyle will rebound close to the program they had under Smith or whether it will begin a decline much as what happened after Ed Rall left the Rebels in the mid 80's.

Since it's Christmas, I will give a shout out for my wish. I'd like to to see them offer the job to David Buchanan at Mason County. His father was a coach for the Rebels before Ed Rall and he has shown a wonderful job of building a nice program at Mason County. He played for and coached with Larry French and was on staff briefly with Chuck Smith at Mercer County.

IMO, Boyle would be very fortunate to get Coach Buchanan from Mason Co. I agree, he has built a nice program at Mason and it is one that many around the state recognize and respect. Buchanan coached the KY All-Stars a couple of years ago (and they beat TN), so he obviously has made a name for himself. I remember the days when Mercer Co. football had Coach Larry French (head coach) and a couple of his assistants were Buchanan and Chuch Smith. What a staff, huh?!! Who wouldn't love to have those 3 together again coaching a high school football team? That would be my Christmas wish!:thumb:

I would agree, Coach Buckanan would be a good fit for the Boyle football program, he's a class act and very good football coach. I believe it's going to take someone like him to get this football program back were it belongs.:thumb:

Coach Buchanan would be a good choice, he has done a good job at Mason.

What does Boyle have coming back? Will they be better suited for a running attack, passing attack, or a balance attack?

IMO, It wouldn't bother me to see them pick from the current group of assistants. Of course I know two of them so I must admit I am biased and I look forward to seeing them soon, and asking what they think and what their next move might be. I am not a Coach Pardue basher, I think he is a great coach who had the unfortunate opportunity of following Chuck Smith and all his success. I'm also not saying Pardue ran off a lot of talent at Boyle County but you can ask anyone close to the program, a lot of football talent roamed the hallways and not the field because of Pardue. I think a lot of kids will actually come back to football if they did hire from within and hire the one I know all the kids love. It really depends on what this particular coach wants to do.

I don't know a lot about David Buchanon except for the fact that I have heard his name mentioned by a lot of Mercer County fans hoping he would be the one to replace Marty Jaggers should he leave as well. I think Buchanon went to Mercer County as a kid and I know the Mercer faithful would love to have him home. However, with Boyle County being so close to his hometown, I have to imagine that he is high on the Boyle County wish list. This will be a very interesting situation. I just hope that the passion of Boyle County football can be restored. It is sorely missed.

Boyle would probably be a balanced attack. They have the talent to do whatever they wish, they just need to get it back on the field.

I guess all the rumors I heard 2 months about Pardue leaving were actually true. I wonder if the statements he allegedly made are true as well.

David Buchanan will be good canidate for the head coaching postion at Boyle Co.If Boyle Co hires Buchanan it will lead to a state championship.
