He'd better start convincing the Xer's how much better Trinity is then them because their patience has to be running thin. How many time will they allow the clearly better team to lose in championship games before they start asking uncomfortable questions about his ability to get a team through a huge game?

You're right, several players played both ways for Trinity and made HUGE plays, but it was Scott Radcliff that intercepted the ball in the 4th quarter. His brother, Phillip was on the 2005 state championship team.

UNBELIEVABLEGreat game. Congrats to X on a great and outstanding season. Great kids -great program - we just don't like each other very much. REspect yes - like no.

 

We had no business winning this game. All of my posts were dead on -about how formidable X is -was. SEveral times lookded like they had the game salted away. Never count us out.

I didn't know the man except on here but I couldn't help but think how much fun LSURock would have had with this one!

 

Anyway, on to the game.

 

It was simply amazing from both sides. The fake punt, the first run by Deuce, the runs by Phillips, Weitlauf as a RB, the crowds was loud on both sides and the kids really played their hearts out. It was hard hitting also!

 

I can only imagine that coach Glaser will be kicking himself over not kicking the field goal. Give your team a 10-point lead and put it in the hands of the best defense in the state. That was a bad decision.

 

But still even after missing it, X should have won. Stein makes a bad pass and the Tigers get the pick. But Beatty did a great job working the clock and Stein was fabulous on that drive. It looked like the same play as the interception - the pass one to Nageli to tie the game.

 

Was that his first TD of the season?

 

And then the kickoff....did anyone catch that ball was just rolling along on the field and three Trinity guys could have had it.

 

St. X made another bad decision when on second down they threw the ball and didn't use Zoeller's legs. He had been hard to stop most of the night.

 

Phillips then goes for nine and Weitlauf does the rest.

 

I was cold and wet and miserable but was so much fun to watch. I want to thank both teams for the effort, hard work and dedication.

 

For X, Zoeller played his tail off and has nothing to be ashamed of. Deuce sure didn't look like he was coming off a knee injury.

 

And for Trinity, I had questioned Robey and his skill level previously but not after tonight. Fellas, he's a big-time player.

 

And for what coach Beatty has accomplished, it's simply astounding. He's now passed Dennis Lampley with six all-time state titles and tied with Glaser.

 

Glad I picked to go there rather than the UK-IU game!

I think people need to understand that when you have just lost a game in OT like X did, it is pretty natural to let some of the frustration come through. Trinity made the plays when they had to, and earned the win. As far as X being the "clearly" superior team going into this one, all the records and rankings go right out the window as everyone should know. Congrats to T on a big win. All the X guys should hold their heads high for a great season and playing the game of football the right way.

I agree. T was the better team last night. I'm simply saying that Glaser isn't the first or last coach to react that way after a tough loss.

Great team victory! Overcoming adversity is instilled in the Trinity players and they prove it year in and year out. Fighting through the bad plays and mistakes takes courage and a calm, cool resolve as well as trusting your skill and that of your teammates and coaches. Trinity epitomizes courage and resolve. Congratulations Rocks.

As Glaser says, Trinity may not have the better football team, but Trinity certainly has the better coach.
