Congratulations to the Rocks and the Trinity family. What a wonderful, wonderful comeback and state championship win.

 

People have complained about T supporters singing the praises of their coaches. I think the T staff did a great job tonight in preparing for the game and making decisions during the game. Don't ever count the Shamrocks out.

Well it's 12:48 am and I heard the first car horn honking as my Trinity neighbor pulled in. Two more across the street, sandwiched by a few X fans. Wonder what it'll be this year.

 

Last year it was a white "T" painted on my perfectly manicured lawn. That doesn't grow out easily in December. The year before it was X mas light in the shape of a "T" on my lawn, using my electricity no less. :fight:

 

I guess I'll just go to bed :sleep: and see what's in store for this year when I wake up. :irked:

Both of these teams were supposed to be there. Great game! Trinity you played your hearts out. X you have not anything to be ashamed of.A great year for both.

Anyways, great run by both squads.

The BGHS Purples can honestly say now that it took two state champions to beat them in 2007...13-2 looks much better now!! I've already given my congratulations to the Bluebirds...time now for the Shamrocks!

 

I don't know any game particulars, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this was one of the most exciting T-X games ever along with one of the best championship games ever! I caught Tim Phillips' numbers earlier in the thread...doesn't surprise me at all. He took control in the final six minutes of our game with the Rocks...he's in a league all by himself!! Of course, he had help in weaving his magic against us, but he was the dominant figure who stood out in our minds when the final horn blew! Congratulations to the Rocks on #18!:thumb:

 

Also, congratulations to X for another great season, just one overtime short of perfection! I think we'd still like that home-and-home series at your new place someday soon!

Does anyone think it's ironic that the brethren from Poplar Level maintained that Trinity couldn't win by playing some guys both ways, as they would fatigue? But in the 2005 and 2007 state championship games versus X lets look at these plays:

 

2005

Eric Senn, a db, catches the only touchdown pass of the game.

Dane Spoelker, a center, makes the tackle of the century on Vic Anderson at the T 2 yard line.

 

2007

Scott Radcliff, a wr, intercepts an X pass in Trinity territory in the fourth quarter.

Donovan Sims, a rb, intercepts an X pass in overtime.

Wes Weitlauf, a lb, converts a huge fourth down and also scores the game winning touchdown.
