When the KBA was PRESUMED sold they made arrangements to hold the middle school and AAU state tournaments at Hoops, with the people who run the KBA managing the tournaments. When the sale of the KBA fell through everything went back to the KBA.

That is great news but I gotta tell ya, SOAS in Florence is a nice facility as well and only 20 minutes from my crib. Going to Lexington for the weekend is a great experience as we have done it 2 yrs in a row and the kids love it. The parents also enjoy it and it can get a little crazy. :jump:

SOAS in Mount Zion was supposed to be another KBA, that's why it's set up the way it is.

SOAS is a nice facility. We played at the one just past Boone County high school. Is there a newer one that they are holding tournaments at now? The problem I have with SOAS is they move you up a grade and do not tell you until you get there. They also play a grade lower with you, sometimes. All of that is OK if they let you know going in. I also do not like the score keeper and book keeper being from the teams playing. Our best player mysteriously fouled out in the YBOA state championship with only 3 fouls. We managed to win anyway but I quickly learned to keep the book and not the clock.

Where are the 7th Wolfpack playing this weekend?

 

I believe they are taking the weekend off due to school ball conflicts. They will play their last regular season league game at Mt Zion on Sunday afternoon.

KBA Winter Classic schedules aren't coming out until tomorrow. Anyone know who is playing in the different age groups??? I know Omega is playing in U10, Wolfpack will be represented in U11 and U12. Anyone know any teams for any divisions? Who are the players to be watching at this event? :dancingpa

Lexington Colonels are pretty good. They shoot the ball well from the perimiter. Somerset Future is the Somerset Middle School feeder program. I have not seen them play this year, but expect the Gold (I think?) to be the stronger of the two.

We have played the 10/u Future, they are average or better.... not the caliber of the older Future teams.

If the Colonels and the Vipers are the same as last year, they are pretty average teams. Colonels shoot a lot of threes.

The NKY Wolfpack play the Albany Bulldogs at 4:15 then the Lexington Panthers at 6:45 on Saturday. The Wolfpack beat the Panthers a couple of weeks ago by 15+ at the BCI. Should be fun to watch!

Does anyone know anything about any of the U9 teams?

Omega All Stars play Lake Cumberland at 3:00 and Lexington Colonels at 5:30 at KBA. Anyone know anything about Lake Cumberland? I know the Colonels made the semifinals in last years state. Should be a good game.

Lake Cumberland is the team that won the 2nd grade AAU state last year and they have 4-5 4th graders added. They are from somerset (Southwestern).
