How did all the teams do down at the KBA this weekend?

At the U11 level, the Nky Wolfpack lost to the Central KY Tigers (Last year's D1 champs) by 4. The Wolfpack were missing their center. Very impressive game.

At the U12 level, the Albany Bulldogs and Lexington Panther met in the finals, with the Panthers winning by double digits. The U12 Wolfpack beat both of these teams on Saturday by 3, but lost to the Bulldogs by 5 on Sunday. From what I saw, they are a stud school team. I could make excuses for the Wolfpack, but the bottom line is the Bulldogs came to play on Sunday and the Wolfpack looked like lethargic all weekend. They definitely did not look like the Wolfpack I have watched the past couple of months.

Congratulations to the Central Ky Tigers in U11 and the Lexington Panthers in U12. This should make for a great state tournament in both divisions.

I thought all 5 teams in the 12/u 6th grade looked very impressive at times. It was an excellent tournament in which the #4 seed and #3 seed played in the finals and Lex Cath didn't make the final four. I was very impressed with the Wolfpack, we played about as well as we could on sunday and barely won and we played pretty good on Saturday when they beat us. Lexington Catholic has 4 excellent players, depth is a problem for them but they can play. The Scott County Wolfpack is a very well ballanced team and extremely competitive and the Lexington Panthers gave us fits. Our kids were a little flat??? but the Panthers were long and athletic and their 3-2 zone gave us a lot of trouble and we couldn't guard #13. The NKY Wolfpack was probably the team with the most potential.

5th and 6th grade divisions at the BCI will be stacked this weekend. The top teams in each division will be:

Cincinnati Knights 5th - D1 National Champs Last 2 of 3 years

Nky Wolfpack 5th?? and 6th

Cincinnati Lakers 5th and 6th - Last year's runner up in both age groups d1 state

Louisville Legends - 5th and 6th

Supposedly there are other teams, but this should make for some exciting basketball!

Legends 6th is tough... they play VERY physical. Probably the most improved team I have seen this year. The 5th plays the same way but has a little trouble scoring.

Rumor has it that Christian McClendon (Summit View) will be joining the Wolfpack :scared:. This team was already stacked and now, Watch out!!

That will definitely help the Wolfpack. I know he is a grade exception, so when you can get a good grade exception player, it's a good thing.

But, it makes me wonder if the Tarheels will have a 7th grade team this year. I have heard both ways at various times.

Question I have is who is playing the point guard position? Picking up an All Star in McClendon is great but you need a pure point guard who can deal to those athletes.

Uebel & McGovney have been playing the point and so far has been pretty successful so far. Uebel handles the ball as well as anyone and can see the floor very well and when he decides to shoot is pretty consistant, his size is sometimes a factor and that is when McGovney takes over. Hopefully, Uebel will decide to grow this summer which will help him next year. (I know his brother is well over 6ft. and his sister is pretty close to 6ft.; so hopefully there is a few growth spurts ahead for him)

Does anyone know game times or match ups for this weekend BCI tourney?

5th grade wolfpack play the Lexington Lightning and Central Ky Warriors on Saturday.

6th grade wolfpack play the Cincy Lakers and Team Louisville on Saturday.

The Cincy Lakers 6th play up in our 7th grade division at SportsPlus. We handled them recently but they have good shooters, are quick and have one bigger kid. You all will have your hands full but they didnt impress me as a team that would dominate the 6th grade division.

How big is the big kid? Is he a scorer or just takes up space?

He's a scorer, they have a lot of athletic kids who get up and down the court and dont get tired. Box out and take care of the ball and you should be fine. Not real aggressive and prone to take bad shots offensively. Thats all I can remember. Coach had a nice Earl Campbell Jersey. :D Old school throwback.
