I know a couple of em. :thumb: Standing Left to Right: Coach Scott Snyder, Stewart Jackson, Jason Hatcher, Coach and Director James Pouncy, Braxton McFarland, Larry Morton, James Quick, Cameron Lewis and Head Coach Steve Page. Kneeling Left to Right: Christian McClendon, Eric "Pookie Trigg, Quenton Snyder, Blake Sanders, Mason Monroe and Dylan Portwood. Taylor Gover declined due to conflict with DII Nationals. Also McClendon and Trigg were replacements for Brandon Hatton and Darrell Hicks who were chosen on the team but had conflicts with scheduling also. There were many more that were deserving to be on this team but there were only 12 spots. Some names that come to attention are Anthony Gorel, Nathan Mcgovney, Omar Prewitt, Dominique Hawkins, Jamel Clay, David Levitch, Max Nussbaum, Paul Jones, Mallot, Moeves, Kunkel, Logan Wade, Ritchie Wittford, Bailey Witte, Dillon Avare and many more. You can see this class is loaded. Will be interesting to see the KY/IN allstar game in 2013 and see who makes it then and if the outcome is the same. All that I mentioned are very good players and I am sure I am leaving a bunch of kids off this list that I just can't remember at the moment.

Boy, you add Gover and Hatton to this team and you have Size/Athleticism/Speed and tremendous 3 pt shooting ability. I really liked Anthony Gorel who played with the Louisville Storm last season. I thought he was a quality player, nice size, passed well and could finish in the lane. Hawkins with Richmond can take over a game also. I havent had a chance to see the Ville play, I am assuming Morton / Stewart play with them also right? One last thing, there was an awesome player from Louisville when I was in high school named Dwayne Morton who went to Louisville Central and then played for Louisville I believe. Is Larry Morton his son? Just curious.

He played up on the Ville's 13U team last year. He played with the Ville team we played the other day along with Hicks, Hatcher, Jones, Quick & Levitch. I believe they have added Prewitt and Avare from the Trotters also. Blake Sanders is injured right now and should return by March to make them the team to beat in the state.

January 1, 200818 yr I believe that the 7th grade is definitely the most talented in the state, and in this part of the country. I know the 6th and 5th do not compare but I really do not think the 8th does either. This will be one of Kentucky's strongest high school classes ever, just keep growing!

If Sanders does come back to The Ville (I think Black10 can confirm or deny that), then I will assume that means Morton will not. Since AAU rules allow 3 grade exceptions, Hatcher, Morton, Hicks and Sanders can't all 4 play on the same team.

The 7th grade is the strongest class from top to bottom. The 8th grade has the strongest team (The Ville) and the 6th grade has strong teams also (CKy Warriors, NKy Tarheels) but the talent level of the 7th grade across the state is stacked.

January 2, 200818 yr According to the schedule posted on Hoops' website, it was the 6th grade Suns. You are right, though, the Suns do not have a 7th grade program. Those kids play various places now, but most play for the Fighting Irish. The Wolfpack played two 8th grade teams. The Royal Family and Watson Memorial. Both teams were very athletic and had a couple of stars. #33 on Watson Memorial was especially impressive. Anyone know his name? Pack did not play well and only had 6 players (missing Uebel, Malott and Shelton). Team needs to be more aggressive. They bounced back on Sunday and beat the Blaze and Rebels soundly in SOAS league.

I knew Quick wasn't a grade exception. I guess this just means Morton will only play for the 8th grade again this year. Good to hear that Sanders is on the road to recovery.
January 2, 200818 yr We are looking for tournaments in prep for State at KBA after the Mt Zion leagues are over. Does anyone know of any out there? I have information on BCI, Hoops, Mid America, etc. but we are trying to find other local tournaments. Thanks for your help.

Word on the street is that Dave Clevenger, BCI, just took over the Sports of All Sorts location at Turfway. This should provide more local tournaments. There's also Sports Plus in Cincinnati and Kingdom Sports Center in Franklin, OH. KBA is having it's winter shootout 1/12 and 1/13 the fee is $95. This is usually a good look at potential state competition.

January 3, 200818 yr Boomer72, Dave, has taken over Sports of All Sorts, at Turfway. Dave, should have some great tournaments in the near future. Dave, will not turn any team a way. He will work with anyone, if you need a place to play BCI's, the place.
