November 25, 200718 yr So if I understand the rules correctly, ALL RULES are out the window on the last play of an OT period??? Ripping a guy's head off with the facemask tackle now has no penalty? Yikes. I thought that was a little strange that the facemask meant nothing but an un-sportsman like conduct is a 15 yard penalty to be enforced.
November 25, 200718 yr I thought that was a little strange that the facemask meant nothing but an un-sportsman like conduct is a 15 yard penalty to be enforced. That's because the facemask occurred during the play and the unsportsmanlike was a dead ball foul.
November 25, 200718 yr That's because the facemask occurred during the play and the unsportsmanlike was a dead ball foul. I figured that much but I don't see why it should affect a brand new OT.
November 25, 200718 yr I figured that much but I don't see why it should affect a brand new OT. Because the previous OT was over.
November 26, 200718 yr That and the attitude Locke brought back with him from that short trip to the field. You must've been on the sidelines or something, because I was 10 rows off the field and didn't see any of this. I did see Brooks give him a dose after the subsitution penalty, which was a crucial penalty at that stage of the game.
November 26, 200718 yr I have some great pictures of the game but they are much too large to post in the thread. Anyone know how I could get these on here for everyone to see?
November 26, 200718 yr He comes off after the penalty, Brooks gives it to him, and then: 1) I THINK I saw him lip Brooks just a little and then 2) I'm SURE I saw him turn and walk away from Brooks before Rich was done with him, so he grabbed him, yanked him to attention, and continued.

I saw that too....The cameras picked it up and didn't go off the two until after Brooks walked away.

November 26, 200718 yr You must have seen more than I did, because from what I saw it was pretty much a one sided conversation. I think it is nothing, but Locke certainly swatted his arm away.,
November 26, 200718 yr I could tell even more in person that I could on tv that Locke is the real deal. He sees the hole and hits it with more speed than anyone else on the field. He doesn't have the durability to run 30 times in an SEC game just yet, but he has to get the ball more than 5 times a game.
