UT 52 UK 50

Featured Replies

Completely disagree that this loss is on Brooks.

While not entirely his fault, but it is ON HIM, that's why they count the HC's records.

I will have to second this statement. I, personally, am a good 'ole Eastern KY boy and could actually listen to Rocky Top all day long :thumb:

I have always thought that each time the UT band plays Rocky Top, the UK band should follow it by playing the theme song of the Beverly Hillbilly Show.

I saw that too, and it would have been the same thing if any other player had made that same mistake. I don't think there is anything to make of that particular confrontation.

At least I hope not...

I dont think that this was more than the head coach chewing out a player for making a costly mental error....nothing to it. Who has ever played the game without receiving a good butt chewing? I have seen Brooks do it several times this season....he is old school and I think its great. However, that boy is a heck of a little player!!

I thought that was a little strange that the facemask meant nothing but an un-sportsman like conduct is a 15 yard penalty to be enforced.

I agree but how do you address the penalty? I dont know how it could be done fairly.

Although this loss stings as much as any, its become part of being a UK football fan. Regardless, its been a very good season....Ky is nobody to pad your schedule with. My thanks to the boys in blue for a very enjoyable college football season. My sons and I only got closer by watching the games together and constantly discussing the team throughout the weeks. Lets hope for the best when we go bowling!!!

:thumb: Well said. I know we always hope for more, but it has been a very good football season. Hopefully we can finish with back-to-back bowl victories.

Someone may have posted this, but as I re-watched the game on Tivo (sadism I suppose), I wondered on the last play of regulation, where Woodson dropped the snap, what if he had instinctively just fallen on the ball (as QB's are taught to do). Clock runs, no time outs.

Proof that UK Football has turned the corner. In past years that exact same scenario would have occurred. Be thankful.

I quit watching this game at halftime, then someone called me and said UK and UT was tied, Kentucky had the game by kicking the FG but UT blocked it, it just wasn't meant to be.

Is this thread going to go on for the next 24 years?
