UT 52 UK 50

Featured Replies

I agree completely that the play calling went too conservative after the Vol turnover in OT.

How many times has Jones been burnt for big plays this year. Him and Moore are a 40 yard plus play waiting to happen.

What was up with the long plays in the first quarter? UT obviously saw something on film with the UK defense over pursuing and leaving no backside containment.

Hated the run at the end of regulation. It didn't seem we were really moving the Vols front 4 all day, but we are going to run it down their throats?

What is the deal with the repeated option call to the short side of the field. Oh my.

This one will sting for a while...

Not nearly as many times as Adams, Warford, or Moore.... in the 1st Quarter when Tennessee got the TD on the opening play it was because EJ Adams was completely non-existent on the play after getting sucked in on the play action, later Tennessee had that long gain to the tight end on almost the same exact play when Warford disappeared due to play action. Paul Warford couldn't cover a tackling dummy. Additonally, Warford and Adams couldn't tackle a stuffed animal, has anyone ever explained to these guys that you can't tackle a 210 pound running back by grabbing him at full speed by his chest?

Bottom line, UK only has one SEC calibur CB and that is Lindley.

Looked to me like Locke and Brooks had a heated sideline chat...

I saw this aswell but Brooks needs to say something to the coach that sent Locke out there. I find it hard to believe that a player just runs on the field without anyone telling him to.

I always like coming to Lexington...I actually saw UK play more than UT this year...Louisville, LSU, and UT. A few things that still get my goat.

1. I am a history guy, and I saw some shirts and signs that said, "whats a Vol anyway". The complete lack of knowledge of our nation's history made me sick.

2. When UK comes to Knoxville the Pride of the Southland plays On, On U of K...when the Pride comes to Lexington they get boo'd. I thought that was a lack of class...I can semi-understand the booing of Rocky Top, but booing the band from the outset was rediculous.

3. I have read a lot of should haves about the last drive in regulation...Eric Berry "should have" intercepted a Woodson to Johnson or Burton pass and the game would have been over then...but that is neither here nor there.

4. It was a great effort by UK. Second half they looked like they could play. I froze to death too. I have been coming to Lexington for the UK/UT game since 1995 and this was the coldest one in memory...at both places for that matter.

Good luck UK and win the bowl for the SEC...heck I may go to it.

The lack of class was the Tennessee starting kicker flipping the UK fans off when they heckled him. And yes, my wife and I both saw it. Also, UT is a very dirty team. There were a lot of cheap shots on the field that the refs didn't see. They did see at least two that I can remember that resulted in 15-yard penalties, but they missed another 2-3. You were lucky to escape Lexington with a win, which kind of screws the SEC because there are 2 better teams in the SEC East that would be better representatives in the SEC title game. As it turns out though, it is really a blessing in disguise, because this just means you're stuck with Fulmer for another 2-3 years. :thumb:

Unfortunately, Woodson costs UK another game...

Not really, they would not have been in position to win without him. did he make a bonehead play at the end and throw a bad interception at the end of the 1st half, yes but he also had 400+yds. & 6 TD's. How about some blame on the feild goal team that missed 2 or the DB's opposite of Lindley who could not cover my mom. Plenty of blame to go around, how about some real bad untimely play calling as well!

UT's band makes UK's look like a bad high school band.

I will have to second this statement. I, personally, am a good 'ole Eastern KY boy and could actually listen to Rocky Top all day long :thumb:

I had to laugh at your comments.

I certainly not condoning the UT kicker flipping anyone of if that is what he did, but it certainly looks like the lack of class started with the UK fans heckling the kid. There's no need for that.

Regardless, it was a lack of class by the UK fans.

I disagree. Heckling is part of playing on the road. The players have to rise above that and not respond.

You can disagree all you want, but fans heckling a student athlete shows a lack of class. I don't care where it happens.

Well, it happens everywhere, but its not everywhere that the player returns the favor with the middle finger.
