I was wondering about that, I wasn't sure if they picked up the flag or what?

I meant to ask and forgot, where were these refs from?

Sounds like outer space. You know they were bad when you hear the winning team complaining.

They were pretty bad.

I agree with mex, I'm glad we won, b/c if we would have lost I wouldn't be able to complain b.c I wouldn't want to come off as making excuses, I'm not, they were bad. :thumb:

Radio made the same comment. I did not want to mention it and seem like sour grapes.....New Cath made more plays. Maybe next time the KHSAA does the playoffs the Breds will come to the Hounds. First time in 15 years these two teams have matched up. Ordinarily the Hounds would have been playing Prestonsburg tonight, but such is life. Good luck Breds against Desales.

Probably the refs fault that Corbin lost. That's the norm out of Corbin Nation.

No, NewCath is a much more gracious host than the city school in Pulaski Co. We just got beat tonight.

Good win Breds! Only team I've ever seen that can be so bad and so good in the same game. Outstanding second half, maybe the best all year. Terrible first half, I know the worst all year.

Actually the calls resulted in some good comedy:

1. On the NCC pass that was dropped the refs never blew the whistle or gave a incomplete signal and the ball just laid on the turf about 3 yards from the Corbin sidelines. The Corbin sideline was yelling at their players to pick the ball up, and their players were like "Huh?"

2. On the dropped NCC screen pass that was about 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage but one official called illegal downfield, the refs all huddle together and one points to spot were the pass was thrown which was clearly behind the line. The white hat looks at the spot, looks at the LOS marker on the sideline, and just when you expect him to waive it off, calls it illegal downfield which Corbin declined.

3. On the late hit out of bounds I think they did mark it off but strangely they marked it from the spot of the first of two flags and not where the runner ended up going out of bounds. Two flags were thrown about 12 yards apart. One about where the QB went out and was hit late and the other back about 12 yards. The signal was for a personal foul but they marked it off from the first flag after huddling about it. Then they stopped the game again just before the next snap and moved the ball forward another yard. Very bizzare.

4. And on a side note but this crew considers time outs and between quarters to be a minimum of like 5 minutes. Maybe it was just the cold, but I think the NFL has shorter time outs than this crew.

Very well put hounds.

Great season Corbin. Good luck to NCC. I think this was alot better of a game than most expected, too bad it didn't go for good for us. It was fun to watch anyhow. Corbin got beat by a very solid opponent last night #24 and #20 are very elusive and # 15 on D allways finds a way to the ball.

Although our defense is pretty good, I was really impressed by Corbins. These kids fly to the ball and don't stop when they get there, somebody is going to get hit. It is very obvious that you are a tight knit community and football is important, your fans were awesome. It was great to see how many were able to get to the game. Nothing but first class, hard hittin football. To be the best you must beat the best. Your team was fun to watch football is tough, but your kids are even tougher. IMO you were the best team we played all year. Glad we are not in your district. Best of luck in the future I will always root for Corbin in the future until the next group of Ski's get to NCC. Corbin plays football the way it should be played. Thanks for letting me watch:thumb:

Didn't get to the game last night was very under the weather . The bad snaps will eventually kill them one game . This late in the season thats bad . BTW driving to Louisville 2 weekends in a row isn't bad at all .

The Breds played great pass defense(with the exception of a couple of blown coverages)and really made Corbin's passing game look bad.

Corbin ran the ball well, but just did not seem to trust it enough anytime they did not get good yardage on first down or on third and more than a yard to continue pounding it between the tackles.

Corbin's defense played well enough to win, they had two bad series when the tackling was not as good as it should have been(give a lot of that credit to the NCC backs as well)and committed a couple of costly penalties. The QB killed Corbin when he kept the ball and the Hounds never seemed to have an answer for that, his ball faking was very good and Corbin was playing very aggressive and flying to the ball which resulted in some open space for him.

Good luck to the Breds, they are a class act with a legendary coach...........they will be hard for any 2A team to beat.

I heard that #8 for Corbin is only a Sophomore. If that is true, watch out. He has a similar build to Maurice Jones-Drew and runs very hard. For the life of me I will never understand why Corbin didn't run the counter trap on third down when they were driving in the third quarter. They ran the play three straight times and were getting about 7 yards a pop on it, but then they went straight off tackle on third down. Also, I feel bad for that kid who dropped the pass in the fourth quarter. NewCath's line and lb'ers saw him lined up at TE and yelled it out. Somehow he still released free. I do believe that it wouldn't have been a touchdown as NewCath's safety had a good angle on him, but it still is a miserable thing to drop a pass (I know). He played a heck of a game on O and D, and he should keep his head up.

Tell us how you really feel Mex:D

Way to go Breds...Back to Back to Back!:thumb:

This is nitpicking, but they were sooooo unorganized all night. They shouldn't have been given a regional final game. That crew was a joke. I know that Corbin's fans have too much class to bring this up, but I'm certain that they feel the same way.

Corbin sometimes tends to try and outsmart the defense instead of making them stop what is working........it does lead to big plays at times though.

Fritts(#8)is a sophomore that has uncanny balance and is willing to stick his nose is there and get tough yardage. I really don't know if he(#42 is a soph as well) would have scored or not, but the kid is a winner and a warrior and I would throw it to him or let him run it with the game on the line anytime.

I'm sure we'll see them again in the coming years!
