I have heard from someone with the team that he has absolutely no control whatsoever.

The statement about UK every season simply doesn't hold water but it is a great diversion from the UL 07 football misery.

I don't think that is an accurate statement about UK basketball. While they haven't lived up the astonomical expectations of the UK fanbase during the past 10 years, they've still be a pretty good team year-in and year-out.

I thought that Petrino was a disciplinarian in that regards. I have always heard how structured and discipline oriented his teams were. Much like Tom Coughlin. I am surprised to hear that that is an issue.

 

It's hard taking over and implementing a system, especially when there is a lack of success. It's too early to be putting for sale signs in his yard just yet.

But, the point is clear...pretty much all fan bases react in a similar fashion when they come to expect big success. U of L football has been at a high level for a relatively short period of time and we've seen how their fans have reacted...imagine if U of L football was the winningest program of all time with somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 national titles.

I must have missed something when checking the records,

1.) I didn't see U.L. listed as the all time winningest program in college football.

2.) I also failed see 7 National Tiltles listed for the Cards.

3.)They couldn't have anywhere close to the number of conference titles that U.K. basketball has...U.L. hasn't stayed in one conference long enough.

4.) Now, I know that a person cannot compare football with basketball but I didn't make that comparison............you did.

 

In closing.....Louisville has "overmarketed and underperformed."..

 

And....in the famous words of Forrest Gump "That's all I have say about that". LOL

I am suspicious about this.

1) The site that has been putting forth the most info on this has suddenly seen an uptick in its advertising revenue. Although, I have to say, I was hearing things before that. Still something that makes you say 'hmmm.'

 

2) There is a LOT of silence on this issue. The Kragthorpe regime has been noted for its exceptional efforts to stonewall info to the fans and media, but I'm referring to well placed people (professionally and otherwise) with usually good inside info not addressing this one way or the other. Deliberately avoiding it, IMO.

Wow if Louisville fans hijacked a UK thread like this the wailing and gnashing of teeth would be deafening.
