Actually, that is what I heard from a reliable source last evening. Any one have the scoop on the Cougars? What's on the menu Friday evening? Triple option football ?

 

The Cougars like to spread the field and are in the shotgun 90 percent of the time, but they still run the ball a lot more than they pass it.

...Anyone who is still playing at this time of the year has EARNED respect! HHS expects nothing less than their opponents best efforts and that is why they work so hard in preparation. LCC will be a worthy opponent. Congrats to HHS and LCC for staying alive!

My understanding is that Letcher County Central has a 'running' QB that is the top rusher on the team. Do they run from the wishbone and run the option? Sounds like the Boyle Co. offense of old when Smith QB'd...

 

 

Also, this game will either start at 7:30 or even as late as 8:00pm Friday evening. The 7:00 pm HHS football kickoffs were only a N Ky conference aggreement. Of course, if you want to come early... :dancingpa

I believe that last year with no school to worry about, some of the games the day after Turkey day started at 7 so that the visiting team could get home by midnight.

The Letcher County folks have a good four hour drive ahead of them. An early start would be a great idea. Maybe even like we did for Hopkinsville.

I agree, there is now way!! From Ft Thomas it's a little over 2 hours to the Corbin exit. At least that's how long it took us in 2004 on our way to log mountain. So to make it to Whitehead has to be at least 4 to 4 1/2. I don't know though, sometimes we have the one special driver that likes to get-r-done!!!!

I would assume map quest would bring LCC up US 23 to Prestonsburg and then across the Mountian Parkway to I-64 and then to I-75. Its 4+ hours for sure. There might be a better way, but I don't think so.

 

As far as the game goes good luck to Letcher County. LCC is probably playing the best team in 5A this week and that doesn't look good coming out of LCC's District. On the same thought it might not make a difference what District your coming out of when playing the Blue Birds this season, but LCC's District could be the weakest in 5A IMO. I guess you never know till you play...I think it will be Highlands 78 Letcher County Central 20

Wow! I think people are getting ahead of themselves. This is the Regional Championship isn't it? Maybe not. Anyway don't you think a team has to be pretty good if the are 11-1 and in the final eight of the state in 5A. Hey, I would love to see some of these scores but realistically, I say 45-14.

tdyb these guys were ranked most of the season right around where Holmes was ranked in the Litkenhouse and you saw what we did to them. Not discounting LCC because anything can happen but I am sticking with my 58-7 score.

 

I just hope the Birds dont have a letdown. Lay off the extra pumpkin pie guys and get plenty of rest on Thursday night.
