I would love to see a moutain team win against a NKY team, but I dont think LCC has the fire power to beat Highlands.

These LCC kids have acomplished a lot in only three years in existence. After two back to back 4-6 seasons these kids are 11-1. Instead of knocking them and stating how bad you're gonna beat them---why not show a little class and be happy for BOTH teams and their success. Highlands didn't get to where they are in a year or two. Let's be proud of all our kids who are going to the third round. But then--be a butt if that is your desire. I chose to congradulate both LCC and Highlands on great years.

 

No disrespect meant to LCC--They're having a great year, and continue on in the playoffs!! In reality though, Highlands is not Greenup, Clay, Whitley, Bourbon, or any other county; and LCC will have their work cut out next weekend? Congrats to them for making the quarters!!

 

As far as the above though, isn't LCC a consolidation of a couple (or 3) schools; and not exactly a start-up program? Taking nothing away from the year they're having, but not fair to programs like Gallatin County and others who made the playoffs, who are true start-up programs.

Looking back through the thread, I don't see a single Highlands poster making outrageous predictions or being disrespectful in any way. Every team has a fan or two that gets carried away; but I think you'll find that we don't operate that way.

 

You're right Birdsfan, Highlands fans are some of the best.

They ( Letcher Central) are a three school consolidation. One school didn't have football until their last year of existance and played a JV schedule. School number 2 was 1-9 in class 1a and school number three was 3-7 in class 2A. Consolidation didn't hurt at all!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I remembered them consolidating, but this makes their accomplishments all the more impressive. Must have a good committment to athletic success.

Does anyone have any stats on LCC? Running team? Passing team? Standout players?

 

And, not to be disrespectful but, looking at some of the scores from this season, LCC allowed a 2 win Whitley County team to score 59 points on them in 2 games. Unless most of those points came late in the games against 2nd teamers, the LCC defense may be in trouble against the Birds. IMO

Looking at some of the comparable scores from another post..I think this game is going to get real ugly real fast. I predict the JV plays most of the second half..HHS 63-7.....Letcher scores late on the JV....GO BIRDS!!!!!! :ylsuper::ylsuper:

I believe HHS has too much for LCC to match up against. I would love to see a solid nail biter game, but I don't think this game has that potential.

The long trip doesn't help the Cougars. Yet, they will come to compete and will give the maximum effort.

Its my prediction. If the Birds blew out the Colonels without trying to run up the score by 40 points, I expect them to do the same vs LCC. Sometimes you cant help but score when the lanes are there. You take em and I expect the Birds to take them when given. Even if they are JV players.

 

Onside kicks while up 30 is low class, throwing for scores when up 50 is low class, predicting a lopsided score is not.
