It was an absolute train wreck. I think he ended up leaving the team midway through the season. I guess the thought was that just because he was a HOF player, he would be a good coach. That was not the case.

By "debt", I meant that more figuratively than literally. He left Louisville without finishing out his contract. As a Louisville fan, I took his leaving as a slight on UL and Louisville. He as much as later said that Michigan State was a dream job compared to Louisville. I liked the guy when he was our coach. I didn't like how he left. I didn't believe Michigan St. would make his resume look better.

We are fortunate to have Sander at DeSales. I hope he stays at least long enough to send DeSales to a state championship. He has been an asset to the school and the football program.

 

Again...just hypothetical. Don't want you or any other school I listed to let their coach go...if I was wanting to replace a coach it would not be any of these schools coach. :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I see what you are saying, but if that held true, every coach in America would owe a "debt." And, on some level you are correct, but that is just the nature of the game.

He has been back in Louisville for some time (before the dismal U of L football season). I do not think you can read anything into him being here and possibly looking to return to U of L. Also, his son did play at Eastern HS.
