November 9, 200718 yr Despite the complete lack of a running game, numerous dropped balls, blown chance after blown chance, a HORRIBLE last defensive series coaching wise, a horrible last offensive drive and clock management, and the biggest bonehead play of the year (Guy), I am actually still happy with the way that they played last night. This team still has a tremendous upside and are only one or two plays away form winning every game this year. Coach K is regaining my confidence and I'm still excited about next year. I think UofL will actually have a better season as Coach K becomes more comfortable with the system he is using and the players as well. Now let's go beat USF and ESPECIALLY RUTGERS.
November 9, 200718 yr 1. U.L. was said to be an "Elite National Power" and "Traditional Power". 2. U.L. was said to be another Big East Champion/Powerhouse 3. U.L. ws picked to be a "legit contender" for the National Championship for this season I think anyone that said UofL is currently an "elite program" is a little bonkers myself but Petrino certainly had us on the way there and that fact isn't debatable. You always bring up the "elite program" comments, and I'm just curious as to who the people are that said that. Can you possibly blame anyone for thinking #2 or #3 before the season started? Coaching changes can sometimes be a lot more difficult then people think, just ask Billy.

I don't have to.............check your own U.L. fan base and you will know, they know who they are only a couple of them have not been posting as much as this season went on. :sssh::thumb: :walk::walk:
November 9, 200718 yr The Cards played better than they have all season but take away the WVU mistakes and the game may very well been a blow out. WVU did everything in their power to give this game to the Cards and still came away with the "W". The Cards didn't exactly play crisply either. Both fumbles led to very very easy WVU touchdowns. As others have said, numerous dropped passes. Trent Guy pulling a Buckner. Sloppy play by both sides, hard to say one was trying to give it to the other.

November 9, 200718 yr If we can win one more it looks like a Quaker State Motor Oil Bowl vs. somebody like East Montana or Pacific Coast State.

November 9, 200718 yr Author So a moral victory for you Deuce??? You're wrong, once again... I said I didn't see the Cards coming home with a win, and I was correct. I was merely pointing out the ridiculous blow out predictions...Next.
November 9, 200718 yr Author Deuce I realize that your post was before my post #39 but I believe that you have failed to acknowledge myself along with others saying that we were wrong. I cannot speak for anyone else but as for me I am right here and as posted - I gave the ones that predicted a close game their due. Now, seeing how you have decided to call some out on their "Opinions/Predictions" - and after all, that is all a predicton is. I will not go back and look up some threads and post that had claims and statements of some other posters but I will try to just name a few of thoses statements, probably not in the exact wording but it will be pretty close. Then I will list some Facts: 1. U.L. was said to be an "Elite National Power" and "Traditional Power". 2. U.L. was said to be another Big East Champion/Powerhouse 3. U.L. ws picked to be a "legit contender" for the National Championship for this season Now some facts: 1. U.L. is not a "Elite Program" or "Traditional Power" 2. U.L. is not a Big East Power this season 3. "Contender for a NC" ??......... U.L. is not even bowl eligible at this time. 4. U.L. is not even #1 or Elite in their own State. Again, I was wrong on my prediction and acknowledge that - the facts that I stated above are not predictions. They are the results/reality of some others statements and predictions on past threads. All that is all well and good.... The fact concerning this game is that if someone had watched the past two WVU/UL games, there's no way they could predict a blow-out either way... It's really as simple as that. People should make predictions on things that are more likely to happen, than what they hope happens. :thumb:

And I don't care if you're alluding to me or not. I said on numerous occasions the same thing BDS just said above: That Petrino had the program on its way to elite status. I still believe the Cardinals can get there. This is just a temporary setback. And funny how you just love to gloat about it, yet you can't even figure out which team you support. Pick somebody and stop fence-sitting. And have a few of these while you're at it ... :fight::bunny::cry::creepy::laugh::banana::sssh::sleep::scared::argue::dancingpa:rolleyes: :irked: :madman::jump::ylsuper::walk::thumb: :flame: :confused::eek::mad::lol::fire:

November 9, 200718 yr Sounds like a moral victory to me. I think the Cards will take whatever they can get this season. I'm sure no UK football fan ever -- through 5+ decades of overall futility and bottom feeding in the SEC -- was happy with just keeping it close.
November 9, 200718 yr I don't hear any Louisville fans talking about the 'almost win' the way I've heard other fans describe their losses (UK '05?)
November 9, 200718 yr I remember an avatar 2 had of a small girl in a UK cheerleader outfit holding up a sign that said "Another moral victory". I think it's fine we point out that he is trying to claim one here.
November 10, 200718 yr Seeing one of Louisvilles players laugh after Brohm attempted a tackle on an interception he had thrown during the second half makes me think that this team had given up on their season before the game even started. It's fine and dandy to chuckle and poke a little fun at a QB trying to tackle someone (it is hillarious to watch) when you are up on a team but not when your down 17 and having the kind of season UL is having.
