November 9, 200718 yr Offense: People doubted the explosivity of this team. I still stand by it. People need to realize they are down an amazing 5 offensive linemen from last year's starting 5. To still maintain a Top Ten team is amazing. That goes without argument. What I AM upset about with this game, and to be honest it is very little, is the fact that Louisville had people who normally catches everything, dropped some BIG balls. I say, Oh Blah Dee. Am I upset? Nope, not anymore. Am I disappoint? SHO NUFF. But after what I saw tonight, I am quite pleased at how this team has bounced back. They (the offense) gave themselves a tough way to go, and the defense as well, most of the night yet still had the opportunity to tie late. I give the offense a B+... Defense: Sure they bent at times, and in particular the big one late. IN a 60 minute game, to play as they did, I was pleasantly satisfied. Would I have liked more stops? Yes, but that doesn't happen against this team. This Louisville defense has finally BOUGHT in, and I am happy as to where they are going. I am upset that there are some amazing young men that have to leave after having to "suffer" through this season. As far as this game goes: a B- . . . and that's fair. Special Teams: Actually this went well except for two plays....Noel's big return, and Trent's lack of concentration...the latter giving Louisville an insurmountable hill to climb. I know that people complain about the play calling late. I ask you, do you think that Louisville was trying to complete 7 yard passes with :90 left? Of course not, Brian was trying to chip away as much as possible, while keeping the opportunity to go deep alive. Grade: C Overall: Don't be surprised if we don't see the chance to go deep the rest of the year. This leads more to my amazement of Brian. Teams are making him chip away, and they are dropping anywhere from 6-8 on any and all plays.....345 is no joke.... Contrary to popular belief, this game further sold me on Coach K, I am 100% in support of him, as is Brian and Co.....they had some growing pains that we, as fans, did not expect...can't worry about that now...the future is still bright, and I believe that if the Cards play with the intensity they did tonight, they should be bowling in Dec.
November 9, 200718 yr Pat White ran all over the Cards. 24 carries for 147 & 1 TD 16/25 passing for 181 yards, 2 TD's & 0 INT's Brohm went 27/46 for 345 yards, 2 TD's & 2 INT's 9 carries for -4 yards & 1 TD Stripling led the Cards in Rushing with 23 yards on 12 carries (As a team UL had a total of 37 yards on 27 carries, 1.4 ypr) & receiving with 106 yards on 8 catches Douglas had 98 yards receiving for the Cards Final drive was terrible for the UL (Play calling) UL now moves to 5-5 & 2-3 in the Big East

In all honesty, I said the game would be close for the most part and WVU would score a couple more to make it appear worse than what it was. I was right except for the last part of the sentence :lol:. Seriously, UL scored about what I thought they would, that was never a question. I just thought they would have a more difficult time stopping WVU. Why would anyone think otherwise?

I thought otherwise because this defense has shown a noticeable improvement on defense. Now, to insure that they go bowling, they have to play the rest of the season with tonight's intensity.

Not only that, but anybody that had watched the previous two UL/WVU games had an idea that neither team would blow the other one out...Both teams have had the team to do it BOTH years, and it hasn't happened yet...

You're right, but with the hand they were dealt on the OL this year, they simply need to take what they can get....I am not a Stubbs fan, but the lack of the running game, at this junction, is not entirely his fauly. Thank God for Brian.
