Middle School Football

Featured Replies

He went to Oak Grove I believe.............Is that part of Corbin School System or Whitley Co. ?

Oak Grove is part of Whitley's system, but he went to Corbin before transferring to Oak Grove due to things not going quite the way his parents wanted.

He is going to be a good player, whether it be at Whitley or wherever his uncle ends up coaching at when he is high school age.

Lol, sometimes no one can please the parents. Talented kid nonetheless. IF Whitley played in a better conference you could get a true read on how good they truly are. I think they have a nice running back or two and then the stud at QB. Their 8th grade team was nothing to speak about so these 7th graders might get thrown to the wolves early IF they continue to play the sport of football.

Estill Co beat McNabb middle tonight, I think 60-26 was the final.

Meece Middle split a pair with Clay Co. tonight at Clay Co. The 7th grade lost 12-6 and the 8th grade spotted Clay 12 points before coming back to win 28-18. Our secondary struggled in the first half but shut the Raiders out in the 2nd half. Meece just lined up and ran the ball down Clay's throat after the half. The Jumpers finished with 2 backs over 100 yards. The 7th grade is now 1-1 in conference and the 8th grade is 2-0.

That's what they need to do. They get in trouble when they try too get cute. Sounds like a great adjustment was made on the D side at the half. Congrats Jumpers keep rolling.

Northern middle split a pair of games last night with McCreary county. The 8th grade lost 12-0 and the 7th won 28-8.:creepy:

Corbin beat North Laurel in 8th grade action by a score of 34-20, but it came at a high cost as they likely lost their QB for the season to a knee injury.:irked:

Any word on the knee, the knee cap was dislocated did they get it back in place at BRMC?

No fracture, I don't think he has had a MRI yet.

I hate that it happened, kid has the size, talent and savvy to potentially become a big-time prospect.

I hate that he got injured but as long as it heals properly better to have it happen at this age than in high school. He's a very good quarterback on a very good team.

Knox Central's 8th grade defeated South Laurel's 8th grade at the McCreary Central bowl today. South Laurel's 7th grade beat Knox Central's 7th 38-0 to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Knox Central Played several 8th Graders against South Laurel, 7th Grade team. Thats according to Knox Centrals, Parents and Coaches.

South Laurels, defense and special teams played well today.

Their offense is good, QB's mobile and he has a strong arm and several good receivers to throw too. This makes South Laurel, hard to defend in open field.

Their best running back " Pennington" is out for 4 to 6 weeks.

This was a good win for South Laurel, handle KC, from the kick off. After having hard fault games against North Laurel and Corbin.

Northern swept a pair of games over the weekend from Lincoln Co, 42-8 in the 7th grade game and 20-14 in the 8th.

Estill County Middle School (3-0) vs. Clark Middle School (3-0)

Should be a great game this Thursday, anyone interested should come check it out, it's at Estill 8th grade at 7:30.
