September 24, 200718 yr Does anyone know how the P.C. quarterback is doing? I would like to commend Jpey and his coaching staff first for having his team ready and having them play hard. Second for their compsure in a tense situation after the hit on their q.b. emotions were starting to rise and he and the staff did a great job in handling his football team. Congrats to the Jumpers for a big win. AJG how is it a mythical county champion when the Jumpers beat both county teams 7th and 8th grade teams? I just called it that because there wasn't any trophy involved. Perhaps we should get some made up and give out to the kids, they earned it. This should settle once and for all which youth football league was better 2 years ago and last year. All the best players were put together on the 3 teams and the kids from the LCYFL, playing for Meece beat both teams full of players from the PCYFL.
September 24, 200718 yr This is the first year since at least 2004 since all three County teams have played each other in both 7th and 8th grades. I called it a mythical Pulaski County Championship because there isn't any actual championship awarded, the trophy comment was a joke but I'm sure Meece would be happy to play for one every year. Usually we have everyone talking about who has the best teams because all 3 teams don't play. This season however, it was settled on the field so there is no dispute. As far as the parents I can assure you that the games against Clay, North Laurel and Corbin meant more to both the players and fans than either one of the games against the Pulaski County Schools. There had been a lot of talk about who had the better talent the last couple of years and it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Sorry if it offends you that we're happy about our wins but our kids had listened for 2 seasons how they weren't as good as the County kids and they earned the right to celebrate this season. Y'all will have another shot next season. Thanks for the congratulations though. :thumb:
September 24, 200718 yr I thought fans from both sides were very well behaved Saturday night. I only saw one Northern coach flagged. I didn't see all of either games so I could be wrong about that. As far as the parent thing, that could be said about all schools. EVEN YOURS.

I thought the Northern Coaching staff showed great restraint after 4 late hits on their Quarterbacks.:irked:
September 24, 200718 yr So let me get this straight (and I don't expect an answer this will get ignored) MM is comparing cancelling a scheduled game to not returning calls to schedule a game? It would seem to me that if a game were already scheduled it would be the school's obligation to play it where as no school is under any obligation to play a game that is not on their schedule. So tell us Maroon Man was Corbin on this year's schedule and Northern cancelled? Did Corbin ever CANCEL (I'm talking about a scheduled game) a game with Northern? You know what? It doesn't even matter all we've heard from Northern is what they've done in years past because they've really got nothing to say about either one of this year's teams and they only reason it wasn't that way last year against Corbin and Meece was that Northern didn't want to play. This isn't 2 or 3 years ago--those days are gone. You got it we had them scheduled twice this year once on 7th and once on 8th both got cancelled. Not saying they are scared just say they should have played the games that were scheduled. As for last year couldn't get a game scheduled no returned phone calls from northern. 2 years ago they pretty handily beat our 8th grade, but our 7th grade took one from them. Even after that we still tried to schedule the next two years.

I can assure you they are not afraid of Corbin. :scared:
September 24, 200718 yr I am just curious, how many holdbacks does Meece have ? Don't take this wrong because I Wish Northern could do the same because it makes a huge difference.:ylsuper:

Don't take this wrong because I Wish Northern could do the same because it makes a huge difference.:ylsuper: I only know of 3 that have held back since starting school. There are probably some that either started later or went to private kindergarten or preschool then public kindergarten (that's what my son did). None of their players have turned 15 yet that I'm aware of though. That's on the 8th grade team, I don't know about the 7th graders.
September 25, 200718 yr The flag came on disputed call from an official, it had nothing to do with the rival game. I thought the Northern Coaching staff showed great restraint after 4 late hits on their Quarterbacks.:irked: Wow! Was there that many late hits called? The O-line should be protecting better than that. I didn't realize they called that many.
September 26, 200718 yr Meece Middle 8th grade beat Corbin 22-8. Meece remains undefeated. The 7th grade did not fair as well. I was told that the QB for Corbin may be back for the conference tournament. If he returns I think Corbin will win the 8th grade tournament. Somerset has a very good 8th grade team but I believe that they just caught Corbin at the right time.
September 26, 200718 yr Elkhorn Middle School Football Team 8th Grade is one of the best middle school team i have seen in a long time. They are 5-0 They have beat Scott County 30- 20 and Madinson Middle from richmond 58-8 East jam.54-18 Harrison 58-8 Second Street Middle school Can't remember. They run the Tony Franklin system and run it well. They are a POWER HOUSE TEAM. This team is BIG and they are FAST. They can beat some Freshman team in ky. Coach Dennis Ledford got a special team coming to him and he knows it. He has Help to put great coaching staff together at his Middle School program with Head Coach Eddie James Who play for Donnie Walker Who turn Franklin County program around. This Coach knows the system and he knows how to make his kids winners. I just hope Coach Dennis Ledford and His Coaching staff Keeps these kids together. They are RED HOT.:fire: There next game is Thursday night in Georgetown Sept.-27 at 6:00. If you are around come out and see a Great Football Team.:flame:
September 26, 200718 yr Elkhorn Middle School's 8th grade team will be good if they all stay together but word on the street is that a few of these kids will transfer to other schools! Any truth to that MrFLYER3?
September 26, 200718 yr Yes that is turn. They will lose some players. But they have a lot of kids there and its NOT JUST ONE OR TWO players that are the team That makes a great team. They will still be strong for there class and the ones that do leave to go to a other School. I have seen that they don't get that must playing time or they stop playing around and they wish they would have stay at there School.
September 26, 200718 yr How about giving it a rest already, there is no doubt Corbin has a fine football program and so does Northern. I can assure you they are not afraid of Corbin. :scared:Call the Coach tell him to call me p.m me I'll give you phone numbers to reach the 7th or 8th Corbin football coaches and we will set a game time and play .They owe us so tell your coach lets get it done.
September 26, 200718 yr Meece and South Laurel, plays this week at Meece. This is always a great basketball match up, so it should be a great football match up as well.
