Harlan evened its record Thursday at 4-4 with a win over Lynn Camp. The MMAC playoffs now appear set. Pineville v. Lynn Camp with winner playing Middlesboro on one side; Harlan v. Williamsburg on the other side.

I found out tonight that Corbin's, QB Smith, will not return this season and their back up QB Vorbeck, is out for the season.

 

I really hate that for these kids they are good young men.

South Laurel 7th grade defeated North Laurel tonight 42-0 to finish the regular season at 9-0. They will host Meece in the first round of playoffs on Oct. 20. Corbin and Clay Co. will meet in the second game on the 20th also at South Laurel.

Harlan Independent now needs a home game do to a late cancellation. Anyone interested in playing October 25th or 27th, please reply or PM me.

I cannot believe that South is being so disrespectful of all of Clay and Corbin's fans and players by scheduling these games 2 1/2 hours apart. They are not starting this game until 2:30, at least this is what has been said, and they start the first game at 12:00. They could easily schedule this second game to start immediately after the first (around 1:30) and this would allow all of the fans who want to be home for the U.K. game which starts at 3:30 on CBS to get home.

Why is starting a game at Noon and 2:30pm, disrespectful? Once the prior game ends, both teams will need to stretch/loosen up and if the same officials, they need some time.

Sorry disrespectful was probley the wrong word. But I just think that may be a different start time would have been better. Because its not every year that U.K. has a season its having.And a chance to see them have a chance to play with Fla. But I guess thats what D.V.R and V.C.R. is for. And with out the youth football there is know U.K. I Apolgize.

Clay Co. called and postponed the game. I guess with the bad weather forcast and tornado watches they didn't want to risk it. The bad thing is at game time the weather was fine, it is now 10pm and we still haven't had any bad weather. The game will now be played following the Clay Co./Somerset JV game on Monday. The JV game starts at 5:30. I guess this will push back the 7th/8th Grade finals which was scheduled for next Thursday but I haven't heard any word on when it might be played.

A great effort from Corbin who was missing their QB and backup QB in addition to a starting RB and TE. The kids stepped up to the challenge instead of folding the tent.:thumb:

The 7th grade finals are now set as South Laurel defeated Meece 28-12 in the first semi-final today. South Laurel improves to 10-0 with todays win. Clay Co. defeated Corbin 12-6 in the other semi-final. The 7th grade finals will be South Laurel and Clay Co. Where and when will be determined after the Clay Co.-Meece 8th grade game.
