September 5, 200719 yr We are in the same system with two different principles and they decide who can hold back and who cant. I thought that Pulaski North had several holdbacks on last year's 8th grade team.
September 5, 200719 yr :thumb: Northern middle school 7th grade defeated Clark Moore last night 26-18 in double OT. They had just come off a 4 OT game last week. 8th grade got beat 26-8.
September 5, 200719 yr I thought that Pulaski North had several holdbacks on last year's 8th grade team. Actually, I do not think that had any holdbacks. I think the southern end held back more than one straight A student. I'm sure it was for reasons other than athletics.:sssh:
September 7, 200719 yr Meece Middle swept a pair from North Laurel at North Laurel tonight. The 7th grade won 20-8 and had a shutout until North scored on the subs with about a minute remaining. The 8th grade won 12-8. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams are now 1-0 in the conference.
September 7, 200719 yr South Laurel's 7th grade defeated Corbin last night to go to 2-0 in the conference. Corbin won the 8th grade game. I'm still anxious to see Clay's 8th grade team, but I just dont see Corbin's 8th losing to Meece or Clay.
September 7, 200719 yr Bracken Co's 7/8 team looks pretty good. I think they are 3 and 1 on an independent schedule. They will be in the Nicholas Co Bowl game according to their schedule I might run down there and check them out tomorrow. I seen the Silver Grove game that Bracken played and you can say whatever but the girls I seen were 5"7 150 pounds playing on the line. Brackens Qb and one of their running backs weigh 80 pounds soaking wet. Mason Co had no girls on their team when they played and Bracken won.
September 10, 200719 yr Northern Middle School swept a pair of games from Russell county over the weekend,. 8th grade won 37-6 and the 7th won 30-8.
September 10, 200719 yr Whitley County's 7th grade beat Lex-Cath 30-0, but lost the 8th grade game 20-6
September 12, 200719 yr Whitley County's 7th grade beat Lex-Cath 30-0, but lost the 8th grade game 20-6I am very impressed. I have heard good things about the Whitley Co. 7th grade team. Who else do they play this season? Is anyone going to challenge them this year? Who is the best team Whitley Co. 7th has faced so far?
September 12, 200719 yr I was told that Clay Co's 7th grade lost to Whitley 14-6. I got a chance to watch one of Whitley Co's games the other day and their 7th grade is very impressive. Not alot of speed but they have a big strong quarterback and a big running back.

Not alot of speed but they have a big strong quarterback and a big running back. The QB transferred to Whitley from Corbin(they do transfer both ways) and is the nephew of former Leslie Co/Corbin/Christian Co. coach Mike Whitaker. He and his Whitley teammates wore down the young Hounds and turned an 8-8 game at the half against Corbin into a 32-8 win.

He went to Oak Grove I believe.............Is that part of Corbin School System or Whitley Co. ?
