Whether he did it or not, the guy is forced to plea guilty. It's not a matter of whether he did it or not. It's a matter of the Feds getting the owner of the property, which happens to be Michael Vick. Not saying he did or didn't do it, but the guy really had no other options than to say he was guilty. Knowing and involvement are two different things. All his buddies copped plea deals and left him all alone. It could possibly be just having the wrong people around. If my opinion mattered, I'd probably say Marcus had way more to do with it than Michael, but that's my opinion.

 

Is Marcus charged with anything in this matter? I am not trying to be a smartelic, just curious as I haven't read everything on it.

 

However, I would NEVER plead guilty to a crime I did not commit or had not part in. So if I understand correctly, you are saying that if Vicki himself didn't admit to that he didn't do it? He has taken an easier plea in order to avoid more jailtime and the state offered it to get a quick conviction and save taxpayers dollars.

 

The fact that he was involved AT ANY LEVEL is dispicable and I don't see how anyone could defend him. Great athlete or not, ... he has proven that you can't buy intelligence in choosing your friends or class no matter how much money you have.

An honest question, ... would the NAACP support Pete Rose being reinstated to baseball so he can go into the HOF? The reason I ask is that Rose's crimes were far less gruesome than what Vick was involved with and they want him back in the NFL, it seems as quickly as possible. I really don't know and realize that they are involved in the betterment of African Americans, which of course Rose is not, ... but politically, I just wonder where they would stand on that one.

When you breed, train, torture and kill dogs for a monetary gain you go to jail and have your reputation ruined. Not a tough concept to grasp...

Here's what bothers me about their whole statement. They said that we should not be in a rush to judgement, and that he was being prematurely punished. Am I mistaken or did he or did he not decide to plead GUILTY? Sure, they tried to explain that away by saying that maybe he just did it in his own best interest to keep the penalties at a minimum. That argument however, has more holes than Col. Nathan R. Jessup's conflicting orders in A Few Good Men. They say that he is "cutting his losses" by pleading guilty however they question the credibility of his co-defendants. I have to ask you this: If those co-defendants credibility was that dubious, with the financial resources that Vick has at his disposal wouldn't it be a slam dunk acquittal? This is purely and simply the NAACP trying to defend an indefensible act because the perpetrator is on of the most recognizable African American athletes in the world. IMO this makes them look worse than him.

If they haven't figured it out by now they probably never will. This is one of the reasons I dropped my membership.

I agree 100%. IF the NFL lets this thug back in at ANY time with ANY resrictions/ non restrictions for ANY reason then they have made a huge set back on what they have claimed to be doing and what the said they would do. We will see how it plays out.

 

As for the support of the NAACP, who is really suprised at that? Imo they remind me of the ALCU - they are/were a great organization and were needed and founded on very good intentions and principles. Both have now made acomplete joke of themselves in various areas. Both the NAACP and ACLU to me have lost all credibility before this incident ever came about.

 

Those are just my opinions and are not meant to belittle the basic principles that both were intended for but rather to belittle a lot of the things that imo they now do and stand for. I know that others may feel differently and that is fine, they are entitled to an opinion as well as I.
