Vince Young Starts Fight in Camp

Was there a kicker involved? ;)

Is this the right thread? Or are we in Colorado?

I think Vince did the right thing. It should have been the DB coach smacking Nickey around. It was a dirty hit and would have cost the Titans in a game and could have cost the Titans a receiver in practice.

I agree. If your QB doesn't have your back, who does? Vince is really a stand up guy IMO and I think he's going to be better than most on here seem to believe.

I don't care how good he is or going to be. You don't go punching teammates, period. Get in their grill, challenge them, teach them a lesson in another way. Punching teammates is not becoming of a 'leader'...

Neither is taking their heads off when they aren't looking. Seriously the receiver could have been seriously hurt by a dirty hit from a teammate. It wasn't like he attacked him. He open hand pushed his face mask.

When I read about this, the first thing I thought of was the "Madden Curse".....

Splitting hairs. So the way around that is to 'open hand push his face' and start a melee involving the entire team? Please...

I agree... I want a QB who will stand up for his teammates even though the fight really meant nothing. It was a dirty play on Nickeys part. I love it! Shows me a sense of urgency and competitiveness.

I'll that over a player who just backs up and walks away. Not that fighting is right but I am sure the Coaching staff wouldn't of let it get crazy.

Now if he'd have taken the football and thrown it at him full force in the face from about 4 feet, that would have made everyone happy, no hand injuries, still sticking up for your teammate and more pain that the girly push to the facemask.

Vince did the right thing I really like this.... the guy hit him with possible the intentions of injurying him. There is no place in the NFL with that. I am sure that's how Vince took it. Neither player is well known who were involved but I guess Vince doesn't wanna see any Titan doing that kinda stuff.

Oh my. I disagree with StickyMitts and agree with SportzAddict in the same thread.

I need to go sit down; darn it, I am sitting down.

You may need to lie down. I'll get you an ice pack.

Believe me, I need it. My head is pounding and I never get head-aches. :D :bunny:

If I was anyone on the Titans O I would have done the same thing... When you are in week 1 and are dying to hit somebody, go ahead and lay someone out, but as far as I could tell everyone in the Titans training camp plays for the Titans, so why would he (Nickey) do something that could hurt the team... I've played a lot of football in my day and rule numero uno is you don't take kill shots in practice.... I like Schlereth's take on ESPN, if it was him, any lineman that didn't get into the film coming to the defense of his QB should be fined... maybe not to that extent but the idea that your job is to protect your QB come hell or highwater, I like it...

This thread title should be changed...Vince made one mistake...throwing his right hand...other than that...he stepped up, AGAIN in a leadership role and this will work wonders...
