I know everyone realizes, Pro Football is a collision sport and violent contacts, tackles, taunting and jawing, will lead to these types.

 

Most altercations, pushing, punches are reactive and no thought process involved. I'm sure if Young, had thought before acting, his punch might not have been thrown, much less with his throwing hand.

 

Again, not a big deal and will make the Titans, an even closer team.

 

There's a 50/50 chance of that. If that means losing my team for the entire year, I don't like those odds...

Ouch. I think you are making it too black & white, there is a lot of grey area on this. If he did this a lot, or if he was being divisive (and fracturing the team) I'd agree. Hopefully this is a one time thing, the team knows that their "over-rated" ( ) QB is willing to step and take control, and now the team moves forward unified behind their guy. I think the positives outweigh the negatives in this case.

 

If he walks over and grabs him by the face mask, makes his point and moves on, I wouldn't have a problem with it. You guys are better than this. Again, at what point would you want your team fighting EACH OTHER? Regardless of what MAY happen.

 

This wasn't two gorillas in the trench getting hooked up on every play in the heat of the summer. He made his way over there and initiated the contact. Screams punk more than leader, at least to me. Seems I'm in the minority in the definition of a leader.

I don't see how it can. It was uncalled for and out of line. A team "leader" to me is someone who the team respects and trusts, one who, in time of need, is there to stand up for the team, not one inparticular player. A leader does not physically fight his own teammates no matter the situations, leaders are supposed to be bigger than that. As a leader your supposed to calm any kind of confrontation between teammates not add fuel to the fire.

Hey! I wasn't an interferrig parent! I'd have survived just fine!

Football is a "collision" sport....It's not for the meek and the DB, almost took his head off and tempers will flare.

 

Young got mad, reacted to protect his teammate and like in most altercations, pushing/shoving/cussing were involved. It's part of the NFL's, daily practice regime.

 

It will happen, in other camps....

He's only been in the league one season, and from what I saw, there's plenty of reason to expect him to be better than Vick.

Watch the season unfold and see if Young isn't the leader for the Titans, and a guy that the majority of the team respects, follows, and looks to for leadership.

I don't get the people that think because its a contact sport it is ok for him to decapitate his own teammate in training camp.... save that stuff for the game... someone needed to say something to Nickey and VY did....

I have been on plenty of teams and every once and a while there are a few fights, many much worse than this incident and we have still be successful as a team. When someone, especially a back up or 3rd stringer does something cheap like this to a teammate he needs to be put in his place. If VY had punched the guy instead of slapped the guy I would have been concerned about his intelligence. This whole situation wouldn't have been that big of a deal if one of the big men had stepped up and done this instead of this high profile player.

This kind of thing goes on at every level of every football team sooner or later and sometimes more than once, especially in pre season practice/workouts. I have seen some teams that if it didn't happen then maybe it should have . I believe that the media once again is making too much out of nothing. Geez, imagine that :eek: :lol: . I personally like the emotion that Young showed although as I said before it wasn't very smart to lead with his throwing arm/hand .
