Vince Young beats Ohio St again but a little different this time around.

 

Vince Young came to the defense of WR Courtney Roby and started a fight with a defensive player (Donnie Nickey).

IMO it was very dumb. Just a hard hit. Vince will not lead this team anywhere.

I think Vince did the right thing. It should have been the DB coach smacking Nickey around. It was a dirty hit and would have cost the Titans in a game and could have cost the Titans a receiver in practice.

But what if Vince Young would have actually landed that punch on that players helmet and broke his hand? That would have cost the Titans a lot more. It was dumb by the supposed leader of the team. A true leader would have not started a fight with his team. He could have yelled at them, grabbed their helmet mask or anything.

I didn't see him throw a punch. I did see him smack at Nickey's helmet twice. A closed fist hard punch would have been stupid, but I didn't see that.

These pushing/altercations, are a frequent as water breaks. Young just earned more respect, from both sides of the ball.

It may have been open handed, but everyone on tv referred to it as a punch, and Jeff Fisher said that he would prefer his QB not throw punches with his throwing hand... So that's what I was going by.

Frankly, I like the fact though that he has the moxy to stand up, and I believe S3 is correct about the respect.

To be honest, I didn't think anything of it good or bad. Granted had he injured himself it would have been a different story. There are fights like this everyday at camp, I'm sure his teammates like the fact that he is willling to stick up for them.
