Florida gave up 7 points to Southern Miss, but the yds per carry was way high so they must not have been that good defensively. You would think that Florida would have quited a lot of critics by beating the undisputed regular season college champion like a drum.

Your favorite program is traditionally abysmal so I guess to make yourselves feel better you refuse to acknowlege that Louisville has been able to do what Kentucky hasn't, build a winning program. And Louisville did it with a much smaller budget and lesser facilities. Kentucky had a decent year last year, buying their way into a bowl game playing any directional school they could. Maybe, just maybe you should wait and see if Kentucky can sustain their "success" before predicting the demise of a program that has had more winning seasons this decade then Kentucky has had in the last 30 years. All Tell, to be fair you have to admit UL hasn't been real good for very long. UL is very good right now (and I don't see many UK fans debating that) but it wasn't too many years ago that UL wasn't very good at all. If UL can sustain the success of late for another 10 years, then you can boast about being a powerhouse program. Until then, you are a Johnny come lately. And don't bother posting that at least UL has come lately and UK has not. I realize that. But we did have a pretty good season last year. What galls me, and I cheer for UL except when they play UK because I love Kentucky football regardless of the college because its good for high school football, is when the UL supporters act like they have been this great football team forever. Not the case, not the case at all. Frankly, without UK's misfortunes caused by Mumme and his buddy (thank God I've forgotten his name) UL might not be any where near the level it is right now. Finally, the initial post of this thread is a joke and has been totally discredited. Leads me to believe the poster was just interested in stirring the pot which isn't what this site is all about in my opinion. If I was less rationale, it would be posts like the initial one that would turn me off of supporting UL.

That ought to be good enough defense.

July 18, 200719 yr Mississippi ST- West Virginia showed them what a Big East offense is like by running for 314yrds, the best SEC team obtained only 128. In all fairness you should probably also mention that West Virginia averaged 303 yards of rushing offense per game last season. So Mississippi State did not fair much worse than any others did. BTW the Mountaineers averaged 285 yards of rushing offense per game last season against Big East schools. That being said I guess you could say that Mississippi State has a better rushing defense than Louisville (318), Pittsburg (317), Syracuse (457) and is only slightly worse than Cincinnati (313).

Also that the SEC offenses are old and outdated and don't compare to the cutting edge gameplay of up a comers such as Louisville and the rest of the Big East?
