Notre Dame rushed for 143 yards vs. LSU. The Tigers won that game 41-14. Arkansas rushed for 298 yards vs. LSU. The Tigers won that game 31-26. Draw your own conclusion there. It's funny how an already weak arguement disappears completely by just adding all of the facts.
July 17, 200719 yr Point #4 - Auburn Auburn- Represented the SEC well. But Tulane passed more on Auburn than any other team. Tulane passed for 283 yards vs. Auburn in a game Auburn won 38-13.

I shouldn't have used such generalizing words in my post. July 17, 200719 yr Point #5 - Mississippi State Mississippi ST- West Virginia showed them what a Big East offense is like by running for 314yrds, the best SEC team obtained only 128. West Virginia was statistically the #2 rushing offense in the nation (303 ypg) and generally regarded as the best and most explosive rushing offense in the nation. They beat Mississippi State 42-14. They also rushed for 318 yards vs. Louisville in a 44-34 loss. They rushed for 311 yards vs. Georgia Tech in a 38-35 win.

July 17, 200719 yr Point #7 - Georgia Georgia- Best team to run against the Dawgs were the mighty Buffaloes of Colorado. Colorad rushed for 173 yards in a 14-13 loss to Bulldogs. Ironically, that was right at the Buffaloe's average of 172.8 ypg. They also ran for 166 yards vs. Nebraska...183 vs. Missouri...228 vs. Texas Tech...
July 17, 200719 yr Point #8 - South Carolina South Carolina- Wofford 290 yrds on the ground, better than any SEC team. Houston 392 passing yrds Again, not a whole lot to add to these. USC lead Wofford 27-10 going into the fourth, but held on for a 27-20 victory. Wofford held the ball for almost 36 minutes against the Gamecocks. USC beat Houston 44-36...the Cougars were the #8 rated team in the nation for passing ypg (277.8).

Southern Miss averaged 4.8 ypc vs. Florida in a 34-7 loss in the first game of the season. Florida held Florida State to 46 yards rushing (2.6 ypc) in a 21-14 win. They held the might Buckeyes of Ohio State to 47 yards rushing (2.0 ypc) in a 41-14 win to claim the national title.
July 17, 200719 yr Point #10 - Tennessee Tennessee- Air Force had 281yrds on the ground, more than any SEC team Air Force was the #3 rated rushing offense in the nation last year (229.4 ypg). They gave the Vols fits in that game...I remember watching it. Tennessee ultimately won 31-30 when they actually stopped an Air Force running play on a 2-pt conversion attempt with 1:35 to play. Tennessee also held California 64 yards rushing (2.8 ypc) in a 35-18 win over the Bears. Cal passed for 272 yards in that game. Tennessee also allowed 183 yards rushing and 197 passing to Penn State in a 20-10 loss.
July 17, 200719 yr Point #11 - Vanderbilt Vandy- Two schools ran over two hundred yrds vs Vandy, they didn't belong to the SEC Vandy held Michigan to 246 yards rushing in the season opener at the big house. Not a big surprise that Michigan would run big over Vandy. The surprise...Duke rushed for 253 yards vs. Vandy in a 45-28 Commodore victory.

I do try to be "real" about things though.
