August 2, 200719 yr The situation is sad, Dunn is leading the team in HRs and has a great OBP and plays decent defense. So sad that people want to get rid of a player like that. Who can they bring in that is going to produce those numbers? No Clue, but did the Mariners have anyone who could have replaced Griffey and the numbers he was putting up when they traded him? They definitely did not, but the were able to put some pieces to together from that trade that made them a good team after the trade and making playoffs, even though they still was not able to replace his numbers...Also I may be wrong on this but I also believe the Mariners made the playoffs after Arod went to the Rangers, and well definitely no one could have replaced his numbers... So I know I getting tired of hearing this because you dont have to replace that persons numbers to be a better team. Yeah most likely we wouldn't be able to replace his number, but we also could possibly ended up being a better team because of it if we got a few different pieces to the puzzle that fit...

You would think the Reds would have jumped at the chance to make it close in the 8th, only to give it up again in the bottom of the inning. I guess not. :lol: Aside from BP's amazing play, the only other piece of good news was seeing EZ back on the mound and he pitched well in his 2 innings. Would be great if he worked things out and can continue to contribute. At this point ANYTHING is better than some of the stuff coming out of the pen.

August 2, 200719 yr That play by Phillips was simply AMAZING. I do not remember seeing anything like that ever. The only other player in the majors that is cabable of that type of play is Jose Reyes.
