At this point in the year with tired arms, injuries, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if someone was interested, even if he hasn't pitched at the major league level in about a year.

It was me not rambler, but still. I sort of answered my own question, he is a AAA pitcher right now, at the very best, and we have enough minor leaguers on this team already.
August 2, 200719 yr No Clue, but did the Mariners have anyone who could have replaced Griffey and the numbers he was putting up when they traded him? They definitely did not, but the were able to put some pieces to together from that trade that made them a good team after the trade and making playoffs, even though they still was not able to replace his numbers...Also I may be wrong on this but I also believe the Mariners made the playoffs after Arod went to the Rangers, and well definitely no one could have replaced his numbers... So I know I getting tired of hearing this because you dont have to replace that persons numbers to be a better team. Yeah most likely we wouldn't be able to replace his number, but we also could possibly ended up being a better team because of it if we got a few different pieces to the puzzle that fit... My apologies, I agree this team is loaded with pitchers that may not even make the roster on some teams. BUT EZ is young, the team is going nowhere this year, let's see what he has. Everyone else in the pen has been given more than a few opportunties.

I agree, they should be getting as much experience as they can, time to start playing for next year.
August 2, 200719 yr Lohse walks in a run in the bottom of the 1st against Chicago. He does manage to get out of the inning giving up just the one run, but threw over 30 pitches. Good to see things have changed with the new uniform. :lol:

I was not referring to money anywhere...merely pointing out that Dunn's homeruns are not necessarily going to be missed. His power seems to be the one thing everyone points to as a main reason to keep him. I'm of the belief the Reds could be better served dealing him and going in another direction. Not sure why everyone seems to think that the organization must keep Dunn.
August 2, 200719 yr Forget his power, where will you replace 100+ runs scored? Although, for the record, I do think in GABP power is of more value than in general.
August 2, 200719 yr Very nice job by Dumatrait to recover from the rough start and get out of that first inning just allowing the one run. With the exception of Zimmerman's hit, the singles just found holes. Course the Nationals very stupid decision to send Lopez home and get thrown out by 40 feet also helped.

Way to go Gonzo... :banana: I agree, I have been critical of him because of all the errors, BUT with everything going on in his family, I can only imagine how difficult it is to focus on baseball. Not an excuse, but great to see him come back and get that homer on the first night.
