August 25, 200719 yr Unlike the past 2 times when Narron and whatshisname took over and had a late season run, I really like this current interim manager. Something about his personality and his "I'm the manager - you're the player" attitude makes me hope they sign him up. 1 year deal. Roll the dice and see how it goes... I agree on both accounts. I've been really impressed with Petey Mac. He's got the quick hook, and I really like the way he has handled the bullpen. He seems really really relaxed running the club, and he does seem to have a great personality.

August 25, 200719 yr Nice sample size. Tuffy Rhodes once had 12 bases in 4 AB's, a 3.000% slugging. Was he more powerful than Ruth, Aaron, and Bonds? Don't paint me anti-Keppy, I love the guy. I just don't think people should get unrealistic expectations that this 27 year old won't be able to live up to next year. He's is on fire right now and has probably made the off-center'd Ryan Freel expendable. Keppy keeps hitting over .300 and gets on base over .350, I don't care how many HR's he tallies. What would your expectations be for a full year? .320 10 60?

I wonder what Gonzo is thinking. What's he signed to? 3 year 12 millon? It wouldn't surprise me to see him dealt in the off season.

August 25, 200719 yr What a great tribute to Dave Concepcion today and Davey's heart felt speech had me choked up. What a player, another one that should be a no brainer in the Hall of Fame. The Reds tribute to him was very well done and it was great to see Sparky, Perez, Morgan, Foster, Bench, Marty B. and "the old lefthander" Joe Nuxhall - they did a great job. Also, the message that Barry Larkin sent and Omar Visquel were a great tribute. #13 will never be worn by another Reds player after tonight.
