Track the Reds: 2nd Half

Featured Replies

Go to www.reds.com to watch the video of the Home Run. Wickman's response is hilarious. Never even turned to look, pitch, hit, start walking.

Priceless.

Quote of the year from CTR

Saarloos... and you gotta picture the deadpan delivery in your head, beacause it really makes it -- "For a while there I was threatening Bobby Jenks’ record… Oh wait, that’s for batter’s retired. I was the other way around. "

That's great.

By the way:

The "in the playoff hunt" Braves are 6 games back.

The "17 games behind them" Reds are 8 1/2 games back.

So, are they both in the playoff hunt or are neither of them in the playoff hunt?

Ain't life funny....

I cant wait until Eli lays an egg in three months and we have to read his rant on why the Bengals suck and how Paul Brown Stadium is so dangerous for Giants "fans".

Talk to your boy Lance and Marty, that's the main reason that unintelligent baseball fans in this city don't like the guy.

If they said you were the best prospect the Reds have, they'd believe it. B/c they don't know any better.

I'm not so sure that everyone who wants him traded hates him. He's my favorite Red and I still think they should trade him. I think he brings back more value in a trade than Griffey. I think Bruce should play next year no matter how bad some people think he's not ready until 2009. I think if a Dunn trade would have been made or is made you have Beuce, Hamilton, Griffey, and Hopper. I know Dunn produces runs. So do other teams that's why he brings back the most in a trade.

If the Reds get some pitching this winter and can settle on a rotation, with 3-5 being somewhat consistent and Arroyo gets back on track, you never know. They've got a few holes to fill and Javy, has really taken advantage of his playing time.

It's obvious, that 85 wins might win this Division, each year.

I hope the Cardinals don't get in the ARod offseason hunt.

I'm a Cardinals guy and really like Rolen. They are like the Reds and really need starting pitching.

Any team that could afford A-Rod, would certainly have to consider an acquisition but needs in the pitching rotation, would be pivotal. I'm not sure if LaRussa, will be at the helm either, as he's getting mentioned often, for the Reds.

It will be an interesting next couple of months and winter season.

Grew up watching them on TBS...and never could force myself to like anything in Ohio. Good enough reason?

Is 17 games under really that much better than 25 games under?
Is 17 games under really that much worse than 4 over?

That's definitely a legit reason.

I have no problem if people would say that, but to hear these people rip him and say he does nothing for this team and blah blah blah, it's mind numbing.

They could play ARod at SS and Rolen at 3B until Rolen is gone. They can afford him too.

You're right it's hard to deal w/. To say he strikes out too much and isn't a gold glover is one thing. To say he's bad and doesn't help the team is just plain wrong.

On a side note, isn't it intersting that it seems that everyone fits nicely into the lineup now that there is a lineup. Who would have thought if you hit Griffey 3rd, Phillips 4th, and Dunn 5th every game that it would work? It obviously doesn't hurt to not have Freel and his .310 OBP in the lineup either.

I (along with many others) have been clamoring for a set lineup forEVER. It's nice to see.

Freel was the biggest waste of 3 Million dollars on the team. I could go and hustle, doesn't mean I'm good.

I would assume that you are talking 3 Mil exact as Milton was the biggest mistake on a contract the Reds have had in a long time.:thumb:
