By the way...I agree. A kid is exactly what Williams was when he was arrested. A juvenile growing up in the ghetto in Miami, about 98% surrounded by bad choices. We shouldn't even KNOW about those arrests, they just coincidentally leaked on the day he chose Miami. At what point do we know right from wrong, in 11 different ways? If BGP had an award for the lamest excuse to give a kid a scholarship, this would sum it up.

I'm not going completely on the defensive of Williams, and I don't claim to know the whole deal, but it is my understanding that his arrests pale in comparison to breaking and entering to obtain 7 deadly weapons.

Looks like Jefferson will face similar charges as Williams plead to. Article doesn't say whether Williams was charged with 1st degree, but still a felony.

May 26, 200719 yr Seriously, are you guys being real? How is this a reflection on UK? If they still take him, than bring the criticism, but until then, it's a 19 year old kid making a felnious mistake that will probably land him (deservedly so [if found guilty]) in prison. I don't think Rich Brooks had a crystal ball that saw this coming. He has been involved w/wrong doings before for his entire HS career! This is not a major lost for UK, he would have never seen the field. If he did not get in trouble now, he would have while at UK so it turned out for the good for UK not to have to deal w/the problem. No mistake on his part, it was a criminal act by a criminal and he will see what it is like to be in prison. As reported on the news last night he could get up to 20yrs behind bars.
