Here's a big IF. IF 2 or 3 of Donovan's guys jump up for Play For Pay, would it make it easier to say yes to KY? Patterson would be a lock at UK with Billy D. Florida's expectations are rising, also. If he had to rebuild, here he could point to the cupboard being left partially (at least) bare. I'm going to have to agree to a past post. The facilities/backing are here for someone like Donovan, if he wants to make the move, to have the run on Rupp and Knight. I'm not saying he will or should take the job, just saying that there might not be a lot of difference in the programs if a lot of the Gator talent leaves.

Sounds to me like he is there for that team and not the future...

If he wasn't, I wouldn't want him.

Billy D. said what he should have said...His focus is on Butler..as well it should be..the sign of a good coach..But...I think he has to at least consider the fact that the Kentucky job is open. And yeah or Nay I'm sure that he will!

Some of you UK homers are a joke. The UK job is not attractive to any successfule coach out there today. There are false expectations, from a program that isn't near what it used to be. Why would Donovan want to come here? Even the weather doesn't compare.

Billy Donovan had more wins before he was 40 than many coaches, including Coach K, Roy Williams, Syracuse Coach, and Jim Calhoun... if he comes to Kentucky, he may join Adolph Rupp.

 

But of course, he could do that at Florida too.

Actually, if he came to UK right now...it would slow that pace.
